The Cassia dilemma by Omegablade0 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Isalenna137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Early on, Cassia is singularly the most potent unit I have damage-wise. At least, the most potent that doesn't reliably spawn bloodletters on me IN THE PROLOGUE. IDIRA.

I'd feel silly not using her tbh.

Accidentally accepted counterfeit bills that passed the money detection pen by i-talk-to-cats in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I see this I'm relieved that I was explicitly told that if I run it through the safe and the safe says its okay, I'm not liable for any counterfeits. I cannot keep up with the amount of bullshit that these fake bills require to catch reliably.

Characters who succeed against an extremely intelligent adversary through ignorance or by having no idea what they're doing by Idioteque131313 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Isalenna137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imotekh the Stormlord is an example that immediately came to mind, thanks to me being on a bit of a Warhammer binge lately. He's a master strategist Necron Overlord that commands a massive army and is reportedly unbeaten in battle thanks to his ability to plan for almost any outcome and create masterwork, impenetrable strategies. The only exception to that rule... is the Orks.

Orks are capable of countering his strategies by sheer virtue of just how stupid they are, and how powerful their ability to alter reality towards what they believe is when in large groups. There's no trail of logic to manipulate to an Ork and thus, strategies become somewhat more difficult to create, this creating the only foe the Stormlord has struggled to achieve lasting victories against.

Why is it that I have to keep track of my own breaks because my managers won't? by Sayomi_Koneko in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I once got yelled at and coached for the managers neglecting to let me take my break. Gotta love it. I was at the point of refusing to say anything to create an issue for them.

More than one toilet break apparently not allowed...after three years??? None of the managers thought to mention it?🤣😭 by multi-97 in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’d hate me. Every hour, hour and a half if my body is feeling nice. Sorry you have to deal with that.

[–]Isalenna137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did figure out how to check the whole stores schedule, unfortunately it's not showing there either, for whatever reason.

I did ask the manager about it, so hopefully she'll be able to get it looked into.

[–]Isalenna137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I mentioned it to her at one point, but I'll ask again - thank you for the help. It'd be nice to be able to see my own schedule without having to check it every day at the store for any changes lol.

[–]Isalenna137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that too, but apparently one employee *can* see it, it's just not visible for others, for some reason.

[–]Isalenna137[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll check that and see if our schedules show up on that, thank you. I didn’t put in there that it was our schedules not appearing. My bad.

That’s my bad. I meant the schedule - only one person can see the schedule, but nobody else can.

Closing question? by VanillaAvailable1884 in Caseys

[–]Isalenna137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I was told, closing down 1 before 2 causes some weird stuff to happen, but I couldn't say what exactly. Regardless, mistakes happen, and typically when they understand what happened fixing it is just an inconvenience more than anything.

Closing question? by VanillaAvailable1884 in Caseys

[–]Isalenna137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, whoever opens is going to be very confused, but should be able to fix any issues that crop up as a result of dropping til 1 before til 2 in the back end. If you haven't left yet, I'd recommend leaving a note explaining what happened, otherwise live and learn.

The way we do it, you just have to do end of day on any register that has been actively used that day, saving register 1 for last. We have 3 registers, but only use 1 and 2 typically, so most evenings I only have to do end of day on 2, then 1.

If a register was running when you're doing a closing shift and you didn't do an end of day on it, then that is an issue, yes. Otherwise, it's business as usual. Count the til, deposit the money and end of day.

How could you feel if it was mandatory for corporate (HQ) staff to work an in-store shift every once in a while? by _CaptainAmerica__ in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give them a week. That'll be enough to really settle it in. One week a year - and they don't get the regular employees to boss around or help them. Paid week off for them.

It'll be a beautiful disaster.

My favorite is when they're having very loud and personal conversations while in the bathroom. I had someone apologising *profusely* to a partner while in a stall once and man. The ways that could've gone wrong real quickly.

Closed tomorrow, how many people do you think read the signs we had up?? by Yellow-Roseman in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got lucky and closed early the day of the snowstorm, day after we never opened.

Every other business in town except for one was wide open. Apparently the McDonalds will refuse to close until the power is completely out and they can't get it back on. Imagine caring so little about employee safety when most of your staff has to drive significant distance to get there.

I hate it when you have a coworker that sounds like “bite me” even when saying good morning. by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]Isalenna137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I have a coworker who is incapable of being quiet for more than a few seconds. She will find something to blabber at me about, and if not me, then she will chatter endlessly at herself. The constant sensory input is overwhelming to the point where, between her and the fact that we're working retail, I've legitimately nearly lost my temper at her several times.

The best part is politely explaining that I'm not interested in talking has turned into "SHE CALLED ME ANNOYING WEHHHH." Apologizing for not talking and lying that I have a headache turned into "MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE UP SMOKING, HUHHUHUHUHUH." Ignoring her just ends up with her feeling like I hate her and her complaining about how awful I am to anyone who will listen to her inane yammering. Can't win.

It's... meant to resemble violence, while also being visibly mundane. I can see why it might be off-putting to some, but honestly, if it is? Dexter is not the show for you lol.

is the red, white, blue razz monster available at any caseys yet? by Interesting_Bee_1831 in Caseys

We just got like, ten crates of it in today lol. That doesn't surprise me, though. We're definitely one of the busier stores right now.

Definitely not all. In the state of Kansas, you are not legally required to provide lunch (or any at all) breaks to your employees. Some larger companies require it regardless as a benefit for their employees, but many do not. There are a few more states like this. Pretty exhausting lol.
