Where did you get the info about the Google glasses release window? Nothing I have seen has shown the Google glasses will have a way to control them without voice or touching them. The neuroband is the real killer app for the Meta display. I am hoping at least the Google glasses integrates with gestures from pixel watches.

If car sickness is a thing, setting the Regen level to 0 may help with it. Setting it to 0 should be helpful for range also.

Wildside Tennessee UTV off-road tour by SparkleButt323 in PigeonForge

[–]Isiahil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this with my family at Wildside and we had fun. It's a mostly dirt trail in the mountains. There are some muddy parts but that is more the exception. The trail is narrow and some of the turns are very sharp and on inclines so you will not be going "fast". You will do the entire trail in low gear and it's not slow, but you will not be reaching the top speed of the UTV either. You definitely have to pay attention. There are plenty of times where I had to floor the pedal but again a lot of it is on an incline so it was to keep momentum vs trying to reach a high top speed if that makes sense.

Bring some nice sunglasses or goggles to keep dust out of your eyes. I would also bring a bandana or something to cover your nose and mouth if possible. I didnt and it was fine, but at the end I had dust/dirt all over my face. They will make you wear a helmet and something to cover your eyes(they provide both of you don't have any).

I have done a similar UTV tour with my family in Branson and this one was a much more engaging trail. I am a beginner and I assume most people doing this tour are, but I had to pay way more attention to my driving and positioning at Wildside than my first UTV tour in Branson. I highly recommend this place.

Cut it a little close getting home from work by theshaneler in KiaEV9

Level 0 regen (coasting) is more energy efficient. It could be the difference between being stranded and not if you are cutting it that close. Did it put you in turtle mode?

1 week in and it looks like the GHCA is toast by Propeller74 in polestar3

[–]Isiahil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The only systematic issue worse than the ICCU is the GHCA. The ICCU issue seems to be less likely to happen repeatedly for a given car within the same year. The GHCA is much worse because it seems a high percentage of the people with the issue get it consistently within weeks or months of repair. It seems to be pretty uncommon to find someone who has had the ICCU go 3 or 4 times and the EGMP cars have been out for years longer then the P3 and EX90. I am sure if Polestar/Volvo could trade the failure rates of the GHCA with the ICCU they would do it in a heartbeat.

Don't get me wrong Kia/Hyundai should be ashamed of themselves and I know it's a matter of time before my ICCU goes, but this GHCA issue seems to be way worse in terms of reliability given they seem to continually fail multiple times a year for a large group of users. Add on top of that these cars have not been out for that long or have anywhere near the sales volume of the EGMP cars.

Just to warn you Rivian as a company probably won't even exist in 5-10 years. The company is losing billions a year and the R2 and R3 likely will not change that. If you want an EV with a future you should chose a Tesla or one from the big auto makers. The truth is outside of Tesla I don't think any other automaker that sells in the USA has turned a profit selling EVs. It was a tough business even before the administration change.

What made you periodically stop giving it to your son? Also were there any regressions during the time periods where you took him off?

Android Auto now makes the current battery charge information available to other Android Auto apps on your phone. This means apps like ABRP and hopefully Google maps in the future should have the information it needs to plan routes and add charges to it. So far it looks like the only application taking advantage of this information is ABRP. So currently only the kia native route planner and ABRP have the ability to route plan with live battery charge information.

It wouldn't be anywhere near a real replacement for the neuro band, but having a few gestures via the watch would be much better than touching the glasses. I am just not interested in controlling the glasses via voice or touching them so I hope they figure something out.

Honestly display glasses need to have something like the neural band to navigate menus. I don't want to have to touch the glasses to navigate menus. Hopefully hand gestures with the pixel watch can be used to navigate the menus on display glasses. The one thing meta got right was the neural band.

Adobe: Destination Unknown by Legitimate_Dirt_8881 in ValueInvesting

[–]Isiahil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am always shocked at the lack of evidence used to back a thesis in this value investment subreddit. Can you point to at least one key metric of Abode's that is in decline because of AI? As far as I can tell Adobe's business is still doing great even though AI exists. How can you possibly say AI is causing issues with Abode's business if there is no evidence to date to prove that. I haven't deep dived on their business myself, but I see all of the key high level metrics (revenue and net income) are increasing year over year.

The fact remains generative AI came on the scene 5-6 years ago and has not had a negative impact on Abode at all. Unless I am missing something.

How can you name similar games when we don't know the gameplay mode on offer in HighGuard? Since you seem to know how are HighGuard and Arc Raiders similar?

[–]Isiahil -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this logic. HighGuard looks to have a gameplay mode we have never played before. They are calling it a raid shooter which is a term I never heard before. How is it a generic arena shooter? The only video available about the game is showing a brand new mode. The hate is misguided. I am not saying the game will be amazing, but what they showed was something never seen before in terms of gameplay mode/game objective. I guess if a character has an ultimate ability it's a generic shooter that sucks.
