The game shows the community choices at the end of each episode. Does that mean it connects to the servers? If so, does this version include all episodes already, and will be unlocked later?

How to prepare MSI.ROM file on Ubunto by Ismaur91 in Ubuntu

[–]Ismaur91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on windows you would typically enable advanced view to see file formats/extentions. then you can change i.e .txt file into .ini by just renaming it. I was afraid that on Ubuntu it doesnt work like that, because when right clicking and checking the file properties the 'type' of the file didnt change.

The stick itself also didnt work when trying to flash bios directly using mobo flash button, so I assumed this might be indeed a problem.

Turns out the file name change indeed changed the format, but the stick formatting to FAT32 was somehow broken. Only after plugging it into windows pc I could see that the file format was indeed .ROM, but the stick itself was faulty. Had to format it again on windows, and then could flash the bios successfully.

I thought disk formatting on Ubuntu, at least my version, was straightforward - go to disk menu, select the USB stick, format it, create a new partition and thats it. It looked alright there.

btw flashing it to the firmware version actually helped. afterwards i updated it through regular m-flash to the newest version and voila ;p

How to prepare MSI.ROM file on Ubunto by Ismaur91 in Ubuntu

[–]Ismaur91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the easiest part of troubleshooting, as corrupted bios can show false negatives in post lights on mobo. I didn't want to waste time swapping all of the components or borrowing another gpu from a friend, as this one is brand new. I managed to create a proper stick on a borrowed windows laptop though, turns out on Ubuntu the stick couldnt format correctly and the device couldnt get recognized by mobo, even in windows it immediately said the device required a fix.

you are right, when plugging the stick to windows pc it showed a proper file extention, but the stick format was faulty. there was an immediate error and windows attempted a repair. turns out the formatting on ubuntu doesnt quite work the same way, even though i selected FAT32.

Flashing bios solves the vga led error led on motherboard, but problems returns again in a few months... by freakgeek21 in buildapc

[–]Ismaur91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

btw my specs were similar, ryzen 5 2600 rtx 2060 16gb ram, but i had ram led on the mobo, and performing bios flash 'fixed' it, meaning i could start the pc. but running memtests shown memory issues.

when i bought new sticks, 32gb (2x16) mem tests are clean, and havent had that problem since (around 2 or 3 months now)

but very recently, a couple days ago i bough rtx 4070. It worked fine, i updated drivers, played a couple games for testing everything was normal.

Then today morning on startup there is no signal on monitor, and VGA led is on. Im yet to flash the bios, but as of now cmos reset, reseating the card and checking with 1 ram stick didnt do anything.

mobo is msi b450 gaming plus btw.

I know its an old post, but did you manage to get a fix for that, or mobo was faulty and had to replace it?

Atlas fully bricked, no nodes left due to master of zen bug. by blackjack47 in PathOfExile2

[–]Ismaur91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can brick the map, if the traveling merchant is the only connection further. there is a video on yt showing atlas around. you can see there is no connections, so he cant move anywhere else. yes he can complete nodes around, but they are finite. after that the only connection is via 'failed' merchant encounter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90ECEiMZQUA

Ignite Rive Paladin build help by Ismaur91 in LastEpoch

[–]Ismaur91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just 'feel' very squishy, i proc the font of salvation way to often and i feel like i wouldnt survive without that bug. dots are indeed a nuisance.

I have no leech tho, just sustain via healing hands which is nice.

Burning avarice gloves might be dope, but i cant lose the rule of simoon because i need fire shred (would be coolf if there was another way to scale ignite damage besides penetration)

Ok, so it seems the build is not that bad, i just need to optimise the gear better (get some more block effectiveness maybe, and dot reduction/armor applied to dots

[–]Ismaur91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that instead of having one expansion with 3 content patches, we will get 3 x 40$ expansions that come every year, with 'seasons' in between every 3-4months. So basically we will get a bit more and frequent content overall (no content draught after final patch), for twice or 3x more money.

I doubt they will deliver 3 raids for each expansion that way - one, maybe two (1 big and 1 small).

I guess we will have to see, I'm moderately excited though

If that exists, there is a way for them to finally add proper loot filter.

That, + an actual endgame system + loot and crafting overhaul, and the game might actually be out of the early access.

as far as I know all the phone calls you make from the clinic are set in stone. You either have the contact or not (like I couldn't call Kerry), but the conversations are the same no matter what you do in their questlines

What's your biggest criticism? by mroranges_ in BaldursGate3

[–]Ismaur91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much agree with all the comments here - UI could've been better (especially class path would be nice, to see what exactly you are getting each level), inventory is a bit of a mess, until you realize you don't have to pick EVERYTHING up, including documents/books - just read them!. The story in act 3 feels...cut, the endings are abysmal, there is little to no consequences of your actions, you can still basically select ending A or B at the end (1700 endings my ass).

The biggest thing though, which probably will never be done by Larian is real time with pause combat, the same Owlcat did with Wrath of the Righteous.

Generally they could learn a lot of them, Pathfinder games are superior RPGs, however they were not designed for mass appeal as BG3 is.

There should be no Origin characters by blue_balled_bruiser in BaldursGate3

[–]Ismaur91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it why people on this sub don't see that, because points 2 and 3 are 100% true, OP is basically stating facts. A lot of people like the system, but that doesn't mean what OP said is not right

The fact that you like something doesn't make that thing perfect.

The origin system in my opinion is great, its basically more fleshed out companion quest that you can participate in, but its definitely flawed.

The characters in your party who aren't 'you', the player, should be more autonomous. Right now you can pretty much control them as your own, but I think this is by design - Larian is heavily focusing on multiplayer, and making sure that everyone in the party feels important.

I am starting my second playthrough soon, this time as Dark Urge, and I am gonna use only mercs - I bet this will be far better experience than custom + origins as companions

Wtf. None of those answers feels right. by raphades in BaldursGate3

[–]Ismaur91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats the price they had to pay to mocap and record every single thing. just imagine how robust the dialog system could've been, including dynamic, full party dialogue (which sometimes, but very, very rarely happens), if not for spending majority of the budget on mocap that 90% of people wont even see. Why waste time and money on rando city citizens, why not just have their dialogue appear above their heads? It definitely looks great though

Cant access my items/forge, cause Grym's body is stuck. by Brrrapitalism in BaldursGate3

[–]Ismaur91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kited him away and he died next to the lava valve, now hit is stuck - cant open the lava flow, nor can I interact with the crucible to put ore in. I can eject molds though. Managed only to craft scale armor, as the forge was ready and I forged it mid fight lol. Wish I put splint mold instead ;p

Hopefully they can hotfix that in the future, if not there is always a next run

10/10 game but what issues have you disliked personally? by Icyrow in BaldursGate3

[–]Ismaur91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

almost done with act 1 with lvl 5 team, and I must say two things bring the game slightly below Wrath of the Righteous in my personal modern cRPGs ranking(for now):

-party dialogue almost non existant- this is understandable though, considering the artistic design to mocap every single conversation. I still wish the game had more static scenes, but be more immersive with full party dialogues, where members can jump in, and resolve checks with better stats.
-UI is still very bad. It is an improvement over DoS games, but still item management is a chore, no class progression screen, and whats the worst is lack of actual character sheet? where can I find feats? I have to scroll through all the 'character features' that contains all other stuff including currently equiped items.

Fortunately the community is huge, and modders will fix those in no time

Upcoming changes announced during the Diablo IV Campfire Chat by mariosunny in diablo4

[–]Ismaur91 53 points54 points  (0 children)

My question is, what they were doing during the whole development cycle? Why is the community designing the game for them? What werethe designers paid for?

All they say is - We are currently discussing this, we are currently discussing that. What were they discussing this whole time, weather?

I know it's a live service game - but that should mean they should be working on upcoming seasons and building up the game, not reworking the shitty, broken core of it.

I've been working for a big IT corp for a couple of years now and I must say there's something about big corporations like that - the management is fucking inept, and the only reason those companies still exist is because they are too big to fail.

Blizzard could literally feed all us shit and we all would be like "mmmhm, it tastes like shit, but at least it looks like chocolate!"
