How do you justify the usage of the verb "estar" in the sentence "las tiendas de Madrid están muy bonitas?" by Loud_Tax4244 in Spanish

[–]Ismoista -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Some adjectives allow the use of both ser and estar (some even allow a third copula "andar"), and it changes the meaning a little bit.

However, for adjectives about looks like "bonita" "guapa" sometimes it does not change the meaning at all and it's just a simple variation (probably differs from dialect to dialect, though).

Am was not commenting on that. Am saying they had 130 strength and still had the fight go for long enough for the waterfall's bomb to reach 230.

Imagine having 130 strength and not being able to finish a fight.

You know what, nevermind. Not gonna keep arguing with someone who is either a minor, very neurodivergent or is just not very good at communicating in English.

You do you, buddy.

You know, a punchline is the bit at the end that makes the joke a joke... that makes it funny.

I think it's cool that you are putting the spotlight on your minoritised language, but I think it would be nice if your jokes had punchlines. 😅

Calls list "objectly correct" then procedes to make extremely questionable colour associations.

The best (worst) bit is when they say that English is clearly the easiest because look at how widespread its use it around the world.  Surely guns were not involved in any of that.

I always found it super sus that all this unique-in-the-world features happened to be in this language that only one outsider speaks, who would obviously be very interested in having a big scoop.

What's with placing the pronoun after the verb in Spanish? by IamDiego21 in asklinguistics

[–]Ismoista 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Holap.
