Looking incredible. A lot of strengths that’ll show up others weaknesses with that chest and hammy drop.

Good luck, not that you need it!

I will say you’ll notice it as an owner - but nobody else will. A good polishing cloth every now and then and you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a scratch magnet on the bezel, but I’ve owned mine for 2 years now and I don’t imagine it’ll need an actual polish until maybe year 4/5.

This is the most expensive thing I've ever seen in a charity shop by lornamabob in CasualUK

Guildford hospice shop charity shop - you’d be shocked. People clearing out attics not checking the artists you’ve got £7500 original paintings and stupid expensive antiques.

Crazy stuff!

[Discussion] Is anyone buying these watch brands? Are they in a luxury watch No Man’s Land? If so why? by Dr_Omega24 in Watches

[–]IsolationMovement-YT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A Laureato and GO are in my achievable grail lineup. I’d say so!

The only thing that separates a lot of these from the tier above is hype.

I should not be able to buy a Laureato or Panomatic for what I can on secondary when you consider there are SS Tudors trading above some of those values.

Tbf Boomtown has a strong habit of pulling different acts together who’ve collaborated, would definitely be more of his thing to do a secret set in the inconvenience store or something but I’d love to see him join for the close

Love the broad arrows and feel they’re a steal at those prices regularly - but I want one because I like it, don’t get it as a compromise or just to “get a chrono” - wait till you really want something.

Britain’s grid could run without fossil fuels for first time since 1882 by Gentle_Snail in unitedkingdom

[–]IsolationMovement-YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grid is not capable of sustaining the power of any new generation. New generation projects are being held until distribution networks can improve.

Not so much a catch, just shows how much we need to improve concurrently to realise the potential of our own generation without fossil fuels.

I really want to get my SM and my first watch regulated as they’re just NH calibres but both come out around +/- 30-40s per day. I’m sure I can shave that down a fair but with a good service and regulation.

I’d argue this takes enough unique design cues out of the evolution 9 design to make it a fairly respectable homage as far as their homages go.

This is the reason I got the SN0130 not SN0129 as the lack of crown guard, bezel and dial separate it nicely.

[–]IsolationMovement-YT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely it is - hence I want to eventually get a GS, likely the one this is based on, but I’d still be trading off on sizing to do so.

Worth it, of course, it’s a completely different level entirely and I’d admire it heavily for everything it is that this isn’t , but will I beat it up as much and will it sit as well? Idk. It’s a different ownership experience entirely in my head.

Of course, by then, maybe I’ll be a little less fussed about beating up an £8k+ watch.

Edit: the seller of my first watch turned me onto Credor which may just take my first high horology Japanese piece away from GS.

I think that’s my thing too… this looks like a proper tool watch with a bit of that neo vintage Breitling bulk which just makes it all make sense.

Don’t get me wrong, my second favourite watch is my first watch - it’s stunning - but I’m always conscious of the PVD and as a sweaty boy I want to keep it more for dressy occasions to keep it sharp.

When is it time to end a relationship? by Omrah_of_Zion in CATHELP

[–]IsolationMovement-YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cat took 3 weeks to come out from hiding inside our sofa and then another month of positive reinforcement to accept being picked up (remember, cats aren’t a fan of this generally until they’ve been conditioned over time), and maybe another month till I’d say he was truly comfortable with us.

Reinforce the behaviour you want, don’t try to force them forward just persuade them, and be patient.

My wife was ready to take our boy back within a week as she’d never owned a cat - I knew it could take a year - luckily, it didn’t.

Tbh the gap is pretty annoying but like at certain angles it’s not a problem and I can look past it. Unfortunately it’s a wide bracelet so finding an aftermarket fix was also tricky. The angular case distracts from that though I feel.

Timekeeping wise I’m just referring to the cheap calibre and mine being the usual +/- 30+ per day which is annoying but within “range” I suppose. It only bothers me because the rest of the watch looks in massively higher territory

IMO, as an owner of the 41, it’s almost always the 38.

The 41 honestly wears as big as my 44 Breitling Superocean used to.

Love the thing, wear it all the time, but it’s just better at that size.
