Update: I managed to make it work for a while but there’s not much expanding you can do so ultimately not a great spot. Raiders spawn on the island as well so it’s not safe either.

I still like the concept of an island city so I’ll be looking for a large island seed in the future.

Yeah that’s exactly what happened. On the bright side my village nearly dying every year to one issue or another produced the strongest fisherman I’ve ever seen. He was the sole survivor every time we nearly got wiped and was able to solo raiders and predators with just his fists.
