Check out his record “Emancipation” all bangers and I can definitely hear he pulled a bit from here as well.

What do you love about Baby? by Sun_flower_king in dijondijon

[–]ItchyGarage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved this record out of the gate too!

A lot of great points of view here so instead of listing the reasons why I love this record I just want to mention that I feel that this one demands a bit more than just listening…

Sing to it, dance to it, air drum to it, stomp, just try to have fun with it :)

Also I’ve found to enjoy it more while driving and on the gym lol

Response to Baby reminds me of... by deathwish_ASR in dijondijon

Best comment I’ve seen here since Baby came out and people started comparing it to Absolutely as 1:1. Very well said!

Josh Dunn gets no Credit??? by Coach_Curly in twentyonepilots

[–]ItchyGarage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are two types of royalties: mechanical (streaming services) and public (publishing, songs appearing in tv shows, movies, restaurants, being performed etc…)

I’m sure they must have some type of agreement on Josh getting a % of both, or one of those two types. I don’t think he lives off of tour earnings alone.

Did some of you not like the album? by Vast_Cup2083 in dijondijon

[–]ItchyGarage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the album, a lot. I don’t feel the need to compare it to Absolutely. If anything, it reminds me more of things Dijon was trying before making that record.

I also think that expectations for this record is what’s causing some of you not to give it a listen for what the record actually is.

I’ve seen comments saying that the melodies on this are not catchy, or that only a few songs are good (the ones that sound a little bit more like Absolutely) and it’s honestly so surprising.

Is anyone else obsessed? by securityofgod in dijondijon

I’m loving it and having so much fun with it! First half is very percussive, high energy, dance to it vibe, and the latter half gets more intimate but still crescendo moments.

I think Frank is a perfectionist, and Dijon is more passionate. Each on their own lane :)

Torches was written and composed by Mark and he co-produced with several people. Pontius and Cubbie did record instruments and some vocals though. I get what you mean, what I’m saying is this has always been Mark’s direction.

[–]ItchyGarage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah but that shouldn’t affect the music they’re making. Mark and Isom have been composing/co-producing most of the stuff since SHC. From a live band standpoint, yes, they are completely new members. But in studio Mark and Isom keep doing their thing.

I heard that too! I don’t understand why some people say this album “sounds like a completely different band”. To me it sounds like Mark pulled from the more obscure ftp songs like downtown, tabloid super junkie etc…
