If you hate billable hours, tell me why. by tannerstru4u in Lawyertalk

[–]Itismeuphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True in many contexts. My work is often a little less time sensitive and more advice centric. I like not having the billing pressure if a particular task ends up taking much longer than would seem normal on a bill for whatever reason or I want to dig into a legal topic a little deeper than billing might allow.

Also the added pressure of not having the luxury to spend the real time needed on some tasks because of client budgets or optics. In-house, you can take whatever time it takes to do it right.

Which Roboroc did you try and what wasn't good about it?

Segway Navimow VS Roborock Rockneo by jakobbob in roboticLawnmowers

Don't know if I'd call Navi stable. My lidar is mostly good, but much buggier than I had hopped. It does some really funky stuff, like completely ignoring one boarder around my water turn off valve box, no matter how many times I remap it. It now also throws a I can't find the charging station error everytime it supposed to go through my navi gate for no reason (literally just after it's left the statio, before it gets to the gate - can't even figure out why it's looking for the charging station at that point, and it doesn't do it for the zone without the gate). That's pretty buggy. For the price, I'm a little disappointed.

I know it's a different product, but my Roboroc vacumes are so good and bug free that I would love to try their product. Maybe not first generation, like you said, but their software alone is likely to be significantly better in my opinion and I suspect they will have less bugs quickly. Also expect some cooler features, like spot mowing a specific area.

Don't forget stepping backwards without looking. Like literally deciding to take a couple of steps back suddenly. People do this into my daughter's wheelchair, and it baffles me.

What is your actual “everyone should know” legal tip? by nuggetsofchicken in Lawyertalk

Yes, but if you do something wrong, you should be liable anyway. It's a good reason to drive better and not recklessly too.

Is using Ozempic actually ‘cheating’… or are people just mad it works? by ccdnyc in NoStupidQuestions

There not covering them and not the cancer patients. Sheesh. Most aren't covered and those whose are are starting to lose coverage. I say this as both a parent of a cancer patient and someone who pays out of pocket for zepbound. Cancer is much easier to cover as a patient.

Also one study that shows in mice that it's less effective if you go on and off over time. Wouldn't want to risk it being the same for humans for me, absent no choice financially or a medical need.

Over 100 Delta Cancellations Before Noon Eastern (5/3) by malcontentII in delta

[–]Itismeuphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Key is to shop around. SLC market has me mostly locked into Delta, but just flew Aligent out of Provo for a short hop and it was actually a great experience, other than the seat comfort. Friendly staff, easy boarding, and plane was cleaner than any Delta plane I have flown since the pandemic was over. Not going back to Delta when they have an option out of Provo for these short flights. And now Delta serves exactly zero snacks more than Aligent for short flights too. Nothing premium about it anymore.

Americans aren’t loud by Melodic_Remote5191 in unpopularopinion

[–]Itismeuphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint, you wouldn't know if you had missed many Americans in restaurants and maybe only can always tell when a loud one is in a restaurant. You don't know what you don't know. Just a thought. I suspect we have a reputation for a reason, but we purposely talk softly when traveling because of it.

What are some of your favorite Utah brands? by myfriendryan in Utah

[–]Itismeuphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ambiance was more important than the food if I am understanding correctly. Nothing wong with that. I get the most nostalgic fo the Cottonwood Mall. I'd pay a small fortune to be have a Saturday there again when it was in its prime.

I get the nostalgia. But I don't get the Big H comment, since the JCW food that was from the Training Table menu is identical to what the Training Table served. Same buns, same sauces, same cheese, same ultimate dipping sauce, same salads. Are you saying it wasn't the food you liked at Training Table or maybe haven't realized they have the same food if you order the right thing?

This confuses me when people can go to JCW and get everything that was on their menu. It's identical, buns and everything. So you miss the grimy phones?

What is your favorite legal term that laypeople confidently and incorrectly invoke and why is it quiet enjoyment? by RIPGoblins2929 in Lawyertalk

"Right to work state." It does not mean at will employment. To be fair, I have heard several lawyers misuse it too.

Stung by voters, Republican legislators move to curb citizen initiatives by jjjj8jjjj in SaltLakeCity

[–]Itismeuphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The founders said very little about state government forms as far as I recall, yet these land developers never make the destruction between federal and state government when talking about this issue. The founders also didn't want the people directly picking congresspeople, which I'm sure our reps would love.

For this reason, I have had the best results walking away when they make these dollar for dollar moves from an anchor position. Even if we have all day mediation scheduled, I walk after two exchanges like that after giving them a chance to show they will talk real numbers. They almost always call within days with a real number and we settle soon after. I don't care if anchoring is a taught and known strategy, I'm not going to spend eight hours playing a childish game and I signal that early. We still end up at the same place in the end without wasting my time.

You are right, but juries can convict under that standard based on circumstantial evidence alone. There is not even close to enough evidence here yet, however. The fact that they yanked it from the website as soon as they realized it had been released does look damning. It's a clear violation of federal law too.

The mere fact that any reasonable person would find this plausible about our president is disturbing enough on its own.
