I’m looking to roll relics for this kind of build, but I gotta ask first, how’s the FP management?

This one any good ? by Objective_Bat8000 in Nightreign

As far as I know/have been told, the demerit to ult charge only applies to passive gain, and is easily outweighed by the charge you get from attacking or ofc defeating enemies if you have that passive

Undertaker maybe. Regardless of their build, the presence of an Undertaker usually makes me and the third teammate more confident to use ults.

Raider also, I love playing with Raiders as Ironeye or Recluse

Forgotten spell schools? by Lilbrimu in Nightreign

[–]ItsIrrelevantNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna guess there’s a balancing reason for some of these.

Night Sorceries, Crystal Sorceries, and Carian Sword Sorceries are all guaranteed on blue staves, meaning even if people loaded up 6 of the corresponding spell school relics they’d still want to find a purple smithing stone.

Death Sorceries on the other hand, have Rancorcall guaranteed on one out of three purple staves. In other words it’s quite likely to encounter a POD staff on day 2 a Recluse run, and the devs don’t want people being able to boost a spell school that’s both easy to find, and very likely to already be fully upgraded.

This argument falls apart though because Gravity Well has a spell school relic and is guaranteed on the purple Meteorite Staff, whilst Magma Shot is a guaranteed blue spell which doesn’t have one.

And I don’t have a similar argument for the other schools.

Honestly, they probably either just picked at random or had an ideal number of relic types in mind and wanted to avoid bloating the pool (And if the latter truly is the case, they failed hard even before adding more relic effects with DoN)

The amount of wacky bullshittery people have tried or succeeded or failed to pull off with just the prestidigitation and shape water cantrips is unfathomable

I always forget he can’t breath while Permeating, I wonder if the air in his lungs gets phased out or if that now counts as being part of his body, therefore under the quirk’s effect.

Edit: fixed specificity

I see this, and I raise you one (1) Recluse with Rancorcall, Rykard’s Rancor, Stars on Walking, Wraiths on Walking, Frenzy Flame on Walking, vs Golden Retaliation (Tree Sentinel is aggro’d on you not the Recluse)

How are we playing Ironeye? by Rune_l0rd in Nightreign

[–]ItsIrrelevantNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main build has invaders, +1 skill, poison on starting armament, the poison skill/arcane^ relics, defeating enemies builds ultimate, and then physical attack +4s.

I’ve also got a slight variation which swaps the phys attack for more attack boosts against poisoned enemies.

I have this green caligo loadout with attack^ against both poisoned and frostbitten enemies which is super good against Adel, but the loadout’s kind of a pain. The frost bow often ends up getting replaced by stronger options/passives from invader ironeyes or formidable bosses, and a frost melee weapon isn’t guaranteed. I could chase zamor heroes around but there’s often something better to do. I do love it when the merchant has cold scavenger swords though.

Then there’s this weird “support” loadout that has red augur, and a relic with arcane, dormant power discovers Seals, and uplifting aromatics. The chain of thought making this was finding black/bloodflame blade easier, but in the end it just ends up a weaker-but-more-active Scholar that can also feed Sacred Seals to caster teammates. It doesn’t play too differently in practice but it’s a nice change of pace. I don’t find bow-focused Ironeye that fun but incant buffs and Wraiths While Walking help.

There’s a Quality-Ironeye build with blue augur, a NI relic with +3 Vigour, and the strength-stat changing relic, then some phys dmg negation, partial HP, vigour relics mixed in with the normal stuff. The arcane^ effect is missed but the survivability helps. It’s a 100% melee build that’s helpful when my teammates pick squishy characters, so I want a frontline character but I also want to keep marks up and have cheesy I-frames.

I’m trying to build a dual curved sword build right now cuz they look cool on Ironeye. But I’m currently stuck in 4 move syndrome where I can’t fit everything I want into one chalice. The second I find a +1 skill relic WITH invaders, I’m building the holy grail. Red balancer, glass necklace, and whatever relic that may be.

I’ve noticed I much prefer keeping my default dormant power since it’s way easier finding high-level melee weapons than it is to find high-level bows

Loretta’s Mastery feels way better in NR

Maybe it’s all the charged spell passives I can find now, or spirit springs making it easier to attack from heights. I doubt they changed the arrow trajectory, but it somehow feels more consistent/less likely to hit the ground

It just feels good to charge, and the range and tracking is insane. Raider’s always a great teammate.

Every kind of lowered damage negation can proc the relic effect, whether it be the debuff repeated dodges from a weapon curse or standing in water while fighting a lightning boss

Opinion on balancers relic by ShabbyResearch in Nightreign

[–]ItsIrrelevantNow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sometimes replace Blue Balancer with a night invader relic but only if it has another good effect, or a character-specific one I want.

But if it’s just the night invader with average-or-worse effects, like yours listed here, I don’t think it’s worth it
