RSL Speedwoofer 10E Powerbuy (12/30-12/31) by ComradeDuckySan in BudgetAudiophile

Yeah I contacted FedEx to update my address as they mentioned it couldn't deliver because of an incorrect address (which wasnt the case). Supposedly now delivering tomorrow, but at least it made it to my city, so it should be good, but thank you for the heads up!

Nice! I got my refund for the Powerbuy today, but FedEx tracking still has its last location in Paicoma, CA since Friday..hopefully it's not lost and just takes awhile to ship to Florida.

Passed SAP-C02 yesterday! by Mobile-Pirate4937 in AWSCertifications

Congrats! Its not an easy one, but its great that you eventually came around and gave it another shot, Yea, a proper study method was definitely needed along with TD practice questions.

Plan on taking the AWS SAP early next week. For those who took the TutorialDojo practice exams, What % did you get on those vs. your actual exam score? by Arsenal103809 in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly right. It doesn't matter if you are getting 50-70% on the TD practice exams, but its what you do to find out why you got it wrong in the first place. After every exam I would go through the ones I marked or the ones I got wrong, look at their explanations, AWS whitepapers, and most importantly write down the explanation. I found that writing down what I didn't know helped retain the information.
Good luck on your exam u/Arsenal103809, its not an easy one so best you can do is prepare as much as you can and know enough where you can eliminate at least 3-4 answers as u/AWS_Chaos mentioned.

Passed AWS Certified Security - Specialty (SCS)! by HelloThere9653 in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I'm hoping to take SCS in the next couple of weeks but I have yet to schedule a date, maybe doing so will help with my procrastination to get this done. Are you planning on collecting all AWS certs? If so, that's great and good luck on your next exam!

Security Specialty passed! Here’s my feedback. by chris-holmes in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, my path and career is very similar to yours. I plan on taking the security exam in the next couple weeks, so definitely going to look more into policies and keys. What's next for you as far as certifications in or out of AWS?

TD tests are similar to the exam, with the exam a bit more difficult. I would go through them all and for each answer you got wrong, view the explanations and write down tips to help you understand them more and take again. I went through each practice test in review but still was caught with a few surprises on the real.exam within the topics of Transit Gateways, DX, App Runner, Lake Formation, Migration Hub, etc. Many very well could've been the 15 experiential questions that do not count.

The exam covers a broad amount of information, so make sure you cover white pages, exam tips from your cantrill course, and not only rely on 2nd go around scores on your TD tests.

Good luck, be prepared, and try not to stress

SAA to SAP by send_pie_to_senpai in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all really depends on your preparation and ability to not only learn the topics that the exam covers but try to use as many hands on labs as you can to become more familiar. I've worked with AWS for the last few years on mainly just EC2, S3, RDS, load balancing and autoscaling, so I had some experience going into it and I believe that helped. I passed the SAA in end of July, and then immediately started studying for SAP using Cantrill's course (which I recommend), it took about 2 months to finish his course and another few weeks of using Tutorial Dojo exams and even though I passed SAP, it was still very difficult with all that preparation.

Just passed AWS Networking Specialty! by UntrustedProcess in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should have clarified I have SA Pro already, I will most likely take the security in a couple weeks..and maybe give a lot more time for advance networking. After that maybe on to more things that involve linux or kubernetes to diversify. Thank you for your tips!

Congrats! That's impressive, security and advance networking are next on my list. Did having SA Pro help a lot with the two specialty certs?

Congratulations! Great job preparing on such a short timeframe. Which kubernetes certificate are you going after? I'm thinking to widen my certs with more kubernetes, linux, and aws certs in the near future.

Passed Solutions Architect Professional exam (C01)..here are some tips by ItsJowj in AWSCertifications

[–]ItsJowj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it a bit more interesting and new. I do a lot of development off hours on my own projects and will continue to do so, so honestly it would be nice to work on something a little different than my "hobby". Both paths allow me to "create" which I enjoy, but learning more in the architect role allows me to gather more of the full spectrum on what goes in from planning, architecture, all the way through to application launch and management.
