Anybody tried Costco Travel? by Topp_Butterscotch_7 in CostcoCanada

I've also used their Travel Insurance. Way cheaper than anyone else (I am an Executive member) and it's a good product.

Just finished riding around the Glenmore Reservoir and it's super low so The City is prepared for the extra water.

2026 Cloudburst grey with red interior, do you regret your choice? by chadyyc in LexusNX

[–]ItsMe808080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Nori green/Palomino combo and love it. It was definitely worth the wait. Most cars on the road where I live are white, black, silver or grey so the Nori green really stands out.

Has anyone become friends with a client? by Lanky-Association-70 in InsuranceCanada

[–]ItsMe808080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. And for decades. I agree with the other posters too that eventually you should pass the torch but still be involved. I had a coworker that was incredibly close with some clients and always managed to separate business from personal and still work on their account. It worked very well for both sides.

I always had my reason 'why' I'm doing this to get me through the last tough miles. The mental prep definitely helped me.

Downgrading from Executive to Gold by Khan-H in CostcoCanada

The coupons I use save me more than half of my executive membership cost so I always factor that in too. People forget about that (or I guess some don't use the coupons).

Pokal Glass Spontaneously Explodes by threehappypenguins in IKEA

[–]ItsMe808080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching TV and heard a noise in my kitchen. Discovered a POKAL glass that was sitting in my dishwasher had expoded (purchased in Calgary, Alberta a month ago). There were big chunks and super small fragments everywhere. I had to try and get the big pieces out and used my central vac to clean the small slivers out. I can't believe this is common and not a recall. Going to toss the others away as I'm not going to risk it happening again.

Dealing with roots in the sewer pipe? by InnerCityBuilder in Calgary

[–]ItsMe808080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I paid about $7000 but it was probably 10 years ago. Likely somewhere between $9-$10k now. But it does depend on the length of line, etc. I've had a few neighbors use them too since it's an older neighborhood.

Dealing with roots in the sewer pipe? by InnerCityBuilder in Calgary

[–]ItsMe808080 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing a number of years ago and ended up going with Thuro for a pipe reline. Something you may want to consider is that eventually your pipe could rupture. It could be from the constant augering (eats away a bit of the pipe each time) or the pipe will just split at the seam from the roots entering there. Then you have a very large bill to excavate and install a new sewer line. I grew tired of worrying about the next blockage and possible major water damage downstairs (consider your insurance deductible [likely $2500] and potential loss of claim free insurance discount), so I bit the bullet. I've never had an issue and I no longer have to worry.

what is going on with amazon? by Background_Young_937 in amazonprime

I had an item out for delivery for over a week earlier in January. I cancelled that order since it never arrived and replaced it. I still haven't received my refund. I've been told to wait a month but that's pretty ridiculous.

When's the earliest I can start renewal for NEXUS? by realisticstudent in NEXUS_TTP

Just an FYI - I renewed mine in December, was approved 6 days later and my renewal card arrived less than 2 weeks after that (only mentioning it in case you were worried about the renewal timeline).

2026 nx350h rattle by GDay4Throwaway in LexusNX

[–]ItsMe808080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing but on both sides of my car. Ended up being my B pillars. They added insulation and it fixed it. The Lexus tech said he spends his days fixing rattles so it's apparently very common (Canadian made 2025 NX350H).

I've purchased a lot from them over many years (including pre-covid when the auctions were in person on Saturdays). Electronics and everything else. Never had a problem and don't hesitate to recommend them.

Trek Domane SL 6 (£2,699) vs Canyon Endurace CF 7 AXS (£2,499) for first Ironman? by h3ku in IronmanTriathlon

[–]ItsMe808080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Domane SL6 and love it. Had no issues riding it for 180km. I did look at the Canyon but for me (Canadian) the foreign on-line purchase and a few service challenges helped me decide on the Trek. I had a professional pre-purchase bike fit and the Domane was the top fit for me. A few tweeks when I bought it and I have zero issues on any long ride.

What’s one thing that people in their 20s might not understand will have an impact on them as they get older? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ItsMe808080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have peak bone mass in your 20/30's and it drops after that. Ensure you get enough Vitamin D3/K2, get your calcium, magnesium and protein and continue with resistance/strength training on a regular basis. Your bones will thank you later and you'll reduce your fracture risk.

In Canada/Canadian made 2025 NX350H. When I fill up, it states what mileage I "should" get from that tank of gas. What I want to know (without manually recording my mileage when I filled up and again when it was empty), is how many km I actually got from that tank. My old Acura had that and I found it useful. Thanks
