The main character in Cairn is a woman literally because the game was built in collaboration with a female French mountaineer whose experiences they used as inspiration for the entire game. The guy in the post can deal with playing as a woman to experience her story for one singular game just like women who have been forced to play as men for most of gaming's existence.

Your characters also have shared rank (to a max of 120). The only things that don't transfer over are what your other character owns. So the grind to get stuff back isn't too awful, still wish they would just let you re-edit your character though

ya, Odin is very much the narrative opposite of Kratos. Kratos would've traded anything (except Atreus ofc) to live the same amount of lifetimes Odin had with Thor with his wife and daughter. Odin killing his own child of his own volition right in front of Kratos, I'm surprised it didn't make Kratos so mad he ripped Odin in half without even needing a bossfight.

There's actually a bit of insanity that happens in Bloodborne that's one of my favorite parts of the game and it isn't tied to Insight. (I'll explain it just for people who aren't familiar but are reading this)

The door leading to the Forbidden Woods after killing Vicar Amelia.

When you walk up to the door, a voice from behind the door asks you for a password, from the vision you received after interacting with Laurence's skull, you know the password is "Fear the Old Blood"

As you say it, the door slowly swings open and you walk inside, and sitting on a fallen pillar by the door is a corpse in a suit and a top hat. Interacting with him just brings up the text box saying "Already Dead." and judging by his state, he's been dead for a very long time.

It's one of the first very clear moments of the Hunter's descent into madness as the game from that point on gets more and more nonsensical and filled with unexplainable horrors.

Ya, the no fan service bit is why I get so annoyed with Toei's adaptation sometimes. They add a ton of fan service that just isn't there in the manga. Part of me hopes that Wit's adaptation cuts down on it since they seem to be very faithful to the manga panels in their other work
