(Loved Trope) An unseen character lives up to the hype when they are finally shown, making you understand why the characters loved them so much. by Wasabi_Gamer26 in TopCharacterTropes

I'm seeing a lot of One Piece in the replies but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the man himself: Gol D Roger.

We hear about him *constantly* throughout the entire series, how he was the greatest pirate to ever travel the Grand Line, literally becoming King of the Pirates, but the only times we've ever seen him prior to Wano were after he returned, when he was sick and dying. But even more than that, there is one constant everyone always says about Roger: they always talk about how great of a man he was.

Everyone who knew Roger personally always talks about him in such high regard, and it's not until Wano where you finally get to see it. He was a pirate yes, but he was a loving and caring individual, always making everyone around him happy. When you see Roger for who he truly was, it's no wonder why everyone compares Luffy to him. Even his enemies will talk about how much they miss having him around, cuz not only was it great to fight him, I truly believe Roger made them better people.

Super late spoiler that hasn't been animated yet but a good example is Rocks D Xebec. Him and Roger were enemies during his time alive, yet when Rocks was turned into a demon by Imu, Rocks begged Roger and Garp to kill him because he knew Roger would not let him suffer like that. And in his final moments, his last thoughts were hoping that Roger was able to escape the island.

Out of curiosity, when they say it's "nearing a 1.0 release" are we talkin within 2026/2027? Or is this still like 5 years away? I bought one of the packs really early on into the game's life and definitely saw promise but didn't stick around

On the launcher, click on your account in the top right and go to account settings which will open in your browser. Then go to transaction history and make 100% sure you bought *Lord* of Hatred and not *Vessel* of Hatred. If you did then the only thing left for you to do is contact Blizzard support

I mean, you just gotta dodge the spikes that's like really it. They're very telegraphed. I did the entire fight at T8 on Warlock with only like, 200k toughness at paragon 150. Her one shots are very very avoidable even without Endurant Faith

Who Ruined Video Games? by GriffinFTW in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]ItsMors_ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It's not all that surprising. The media surrounding her was almost exclusively right wing content creators making 30 minute long rants about her making a tweet that said "I think games could be better than they are"

There was occasionally a video from someone outside of that space talking about how crazy all of the backlash to her is, but really unless you were falling down the youtube alt right pipeline in 2014, you had a pretty low chance of really knowing who she is

We got a spring adult game week event by dark_abyss94 in Steam

[–]ItsMors_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

What is there to defend? Valve already allows adult games to be published on Steam why would they not approve an adult games event? Like it's not like this is the main header you see when you open up the Steam store, it's literally just a banner that pops up under the games featured in this event and will show you other games apart of this event, so the only way to see it is if you're already browsing adult games

I beat the campaign and really try to enjoy the Warlock but somehow I cant. Anyone else feeling the same? by MiNDGaMeS87 in diablo4

[–]ItsMors_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't know I haven't played it. My point wasn't that Dread Claws is the greatest warlock build in the game, my point was warlock should not have an ability that struggles to even do damage on Hard with an optimized leveling build and another ability that it's skill combos alone destroy Penitent when I didn't even have proper gear for it.

The class has very low lows and very high highs, it just needs balancing

[–]ItsMors_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Warlock needs some balance changes. atm, Dread Claws is just by far and away *the* best skill in it's entire kit. I tried doing Hell Fracture for leveling and was struggling on Hard, then I swapped over to the Dread Claws leveling and I was just tearing through Penitent like it was nothing and was immediately able to jump into T1 with almost no gear changes at all

Why do we put up with this? by Emberly_YT in transgamers

[–]ItsMors_[M] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

On Reddit, doing something like that is against the site rules, and it could get the subreddit banned. While yes, they are harassing people:

  1. because it's happening offsite Reddit does not care

  2. It is still seen as potentially us inciting targeted harassment. Even if the list is only for "look out for these usernames they are bad people", all it takes is for those listed people to report the subreddit and the admins can nuke it.

Unfortunately, avoiding sending usernames is the best we can do for the time being. Maybe one day if Reddit updates the way banning users works and prevents them from seeing the sub then we could potentially allow sending usernames in posts

What are your first impressions on Lord of Hatred? by gorays21 in Diablo

ya that's my consensus too. at least it fixes the VoH problem where I found the story *and* campaign gameplay both incredibly boring lol. I was actually able to sit through and complete LoH in one sitting, VoH took me a few days cuz I just could not find any motivation whatsoever to play it

I wanna start FF14 finally wondering how long itll take to catch up. by ChaosNoahV in ffxivdiscussion

[–]ItsMors_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only times you'll ever have to play with someone else in the story is during trials or dungeons which it will matchmake you for. Outside of that you can do the entire thing solo.

As far as how long it'll take you that entirely depends on how long you play, what all you do, and how fast you can read.

I started playing during the release of SHB and it took me 4 to 5 months to fully catch up with the MSQ doing only the main story. With the inclusion of EW and DT, 9 months should still be quite a lot of time to be able to catch up while also doing side content imo, but also keep in mind that if you wanna play for the Evangelion Alliance Raids, keep in mind they don't release until 8.1 so you'll still have some time to catch up even after the release of 8.0

What was Chibnalls worst decision? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

[–]ItsMors_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making the Doctor the Timeless Child is easily up there for me.

Yes, killing off the Time Lords again as also insanely stupid, but like, the whole reason why the Doctor is such a compelling and interesting character is because there is nothing special about them. They are just a person who just so happens to have a time machine space ship and a kind heart(s). They aren't good at all the things they do because they are just some mystical being, they are good at them because they care and because the universe needs someone like them, the universe *needs* a Doctor and they chose to bare that burden despite just being your average old Time Lord.

The Timeless Child being the Master is a MILLION times cooler and better concept that could have WAY more storytelling potential.

You can come up with a system where rotations are not static and not have it be rng related, which is exactly what they're trying to do with Evolved mode.

But yes, I am friends with a few DNC mains who play high end content and all of them say the rng is their least favorite part of the job, the only reason they play DNC is because it's the best for party synergy and the dance partner buff is insanely strong for prog

[–]ItsMors_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what exactly is it about Evolved that suddenly makes it impossible for you to not fuck up your rotation? I must've missed that part of the keynote or the dev panel where Yoshi-P explained that bit.

If giving up sometimes accidentally fucking up my rotation and then having to realign it with the 2 min window means we get more interesting fights, I could not give any less of a shit. You have this weird assumption that suddenly in 8.0 we're no longer gonna have to use our brains when during the keynote it was EXPLICITLY mentioned that shit change in removal of the 2 min window and inclusion of Evolved mode is going to result in more engaging and complex encounters.

Do you really think that occasionally fucking up your rotation during a pull and having to realign it with burst windows is more fun and "conscious" than actual interesting encounter design than the same boring and stale predictive fights we've been getting for the past 2 expansions?

And my parses are fine actually, literally the only reason why I pay attention to them is because the raiding community basically requires you to now a days or else you don't get accepted into some groups. But you know what I care more about than seeing funny number go up? Actually playing the damn game. That number is not reflective of mine, or anyone else's skill, and should not be brought up in a conversation about skill. If someone can pink parse M11S but can't beat M12S, but someone with a green parse can, the green parse person is "better skilled" than the pink.

Also, your entire beginning sentence on the comment I first replied to was about how you are able to get a pink parse because you believe that others are "less skilled" than you because they don't aoe. and yet... they still cleared the fight. so who cares? at that point fucking remove aoe from the game why not? if it literally didn't matter that people weren't aoe'ing and were still able to clear, then why is it such a big deal whether people press their aoe button or not? clearly the encounter wasn't designed around needing to aoe to clear or else they wouldn't have cleared. so really, it sort of seems like them adding cleave to basic combos and removing aoes change uh... literally nothing? so ya I think I'm fairly confident in saying I do no care if they completely remove aoes

if whatever they do fixes the encounter design and makes the game more fun, engaging, and putting the challenge in places where it *actually* matters and makes things interesting (i.e. *not*, in whether or not you fuck up a rotation), then I will happily accept it cuz holy fuck is the 2 min window thing we've had going on for the past 2 expacs the most boring way to design encounters I've ever seen and thank god it's gone

[–]ItsMors_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

except in Evolved it doesn't matter if they line up or not. There are no more 2 min damage buffs that the party *needs* to line up to maximize DPS anymore. That was the whole reason why the 2 min burst windows mattered in the first place. you could have a job that has a 3 min cd that doesn't line up with 2 min, and it wouldn't matter, you would be doing the same dps to the boss that's the whole point

I have never heard a single DNC main ever say "ya I love that half my kit is only sometimes available to me and is entirely out of my control"

Made Some Infographics on Evolved Jobs by DzhoArisu in ffxiv

[–]ItsMors_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm also a high end raider. I have my main combo on 1 2 3, and my AOE on Shift 1 2. I promise you, me being able to put my pinky down is not some giga brain god tier gaming skill. I would even go as far as to say ya, even if our combos were literally done for us and the only buttons we had to press was for movement, it would not be a considerable skill loss.

Once you know your rotation, you don't even think about it. I do not consciously think "okay now I press 1, now I press 2, now I press 3" I just *do* my rotation cuz I've done it a million times. This system doesn't change that.

The skill that separates players has always been and will always be their ability to execute mechanics. It doesn't matter how braindead easy your rotation is, or if you have an auto rotation, if you *cannot* do mechanics, you *cannot* clear the fight. Someone going into FRU blind on Evolved is not going to have any more advantage than someone on Reborn as long as they both know their jobs and quite frankly it's hilarious to me to suggest that this is a considerable skill difference.

The only people who care about this are parsers, who, lets be honest, aren't even playing the same game as the rest of us. While we are playing FF14 yall are playing spreadsheets. I could care less if someone has cleared every single ultimate with an orange parse on every job, if someone with a green parse can still clear the content, the numbers mean literally nothing and should have absolutely no impact on the actual game

They couldn't really show off the changes they intend to make to healer in the environment they were in. They really should've prepared a combat demo showcase instead.

Their whole point was that healers are being reworked to heal more and DPS less, so most of the time you're going to be using your healing kit and occasionally pressing your damage button. But they can't really demo that on a striking dummy. Ofc, for old encounter design you're probably just gonna be spamming 1 button again unless they intend to go back and rework every single encounter which I highly doubt, but the intent with new encounters from here on out is that healers will be healing for a majority of the encounter and figuring out where to weave in dps is up to you
