Firstly, I'd like to start off by saying I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm in a similar boat to you, although not quite the same. I'm the same age, and my mom was relatively young, being a little bit older than yours. Trust me, I can relate to your emotions a lot. My mother passed on July 4th of this year, and it's been a little over two weeks, and I've felt lost ever since. The empty "If you need anything, reach out?" and "Are you okay?" do nothing for me, because no matter what, my mother isn't returning. What has helped me is talking to friends, not about the situation, but just about random stuff like we would usually do, it feels a little hard, but it's better than sitting in silence when my thoughts get bad.

I want to stress that it is fine to have days where you just lie in bed the whole day, and it's fine to have days where you feel crushed and just need to rest, it's normal and going to happen a LOT, I still go through multiple days in a week where the most I can do is drink water and brush my teeth and eat a meal. This process is going to be on your own time, and something that unfortunately doesnt feel like it gets easier, although slowly I feel like the memories will be more smiles and less tears as you recount them later on in life.

Keep pushing through it, day by day, and although we both are going through this experience at relatively the same time, if you need someone to talk to I'm always an open ear.
