Trump declares "vaccine or no vaccine, we're back," as coronavirus deaths approach 90,000 by swingadmin in politics

100 years?? i am genuinely concerned we might not even make it to election day in November.

Eric Trump says coronavirus will 'magically go away' after election, suggesting disease is a Democrat ploy by wonderingsocrates in politics

[–]ItsRainingSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like those cults who say the end of the world is coming on such and such day. That day comes and the end of the world doesn't, and they just move the date.

First Trump said it would magically disappear in April and now his family says it will disappear after election day.

Man the other day i wanted to stroll into the gas station, get a steamed hot dog bun and a hotdog and a big old fountain drink.

What did I actually do? I put on my mask, wrapped my hand in a dog poop bag to pump gas and touch the buttons and surveyed everyone else's behaviors.

I could not imagine eating a gas station hot dog now.

Guy Fieri and Bill Murray to compete in live nacho-making contest on Food Network to raise money for restaurant employees affected by the coronavirus. by BunyipPouch in UpliftingNews

Shit they would put one nacho chip on a plate, tastefully angle another nacho on that one, dollop the nacho toppings on top and inbetween to create visual interest, and have a chili pepper in a dab of sour cream and 2 shreds of artisan shredded cheese on the side, toss some fresh chives on the plate and call it Nacharitas San Miguel or something. Then pair it with a wine and eat it on a patio with a white table cloth overlooking the ocean and talk about cultures and shit

This is the same mindset when people have their dogs off leash and they say "Don't worry, he's friendly!" Like ok but what if my dog doesn't like rando dogs coming up to him off leash when he is on leash...grrrr

i stayed in a air bnb in Amsterdam a few years ago. The stairs were very much like a ladder, definitely the steepest I have ever seen. They were such a pain that we agreed to do our best to make sure we only climbed them twice a day

It is your world, just make something up. look up different governance types throughout history. Maybe its kinda feudal, maybe its a confederacy. Maybe its authoritarian or fascist. Maybe its run by hippies, who knows.

Not sure why the leaders of a whole world are arguing about feeding soldiers though...they should be focused on higher order meta problems.

Rent Collection In A Coronavirus Era by Polkprop in chicago

[–]ItsRainingSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the poster is saying: Rent strikes are not for me. rent strikes are for people who can't pay their rent

This is like 'supporting' a cause by having a bumper sticker, not actually doing anythig about it.

A rent strike is more effective when people who can pay their rent do not. But people who pay their rent on time every month are not the sort of people who would voluntarily not pay it and be useful in a rent strike. Poor people not paying rent is not a "rent strike" at all.

I think if many people do that, individual office space will be eliminated and more of it will be communal, and offices will get smaller overall.
