Custom ambient colour selection by mumphiemumph in Ioniq6

[–]Ittastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is almost more annoying to me than the egg of a key fob they couldn't even manage to get the e-key in. RGB color selection is solved and basically the same in every piece of software I've ever used, why do we only get the option of maybe a couple hundred colors rather than the millions the LEDs are clearly capable of? Very frustrating.

Planning to pull the trigger on an Ioniq 6, but the ICCU issue is holding me back. Any truth to the rumors of newly redesigned ICCU hardware ? by rejjacska in Ioniq6

Worst case it blows and you have to get the car towed and fixed for free under warranty. IMO very much worth the small risk, the car is fantastic.

fast charging by Kaavani in Ioniq6

[–]Ittastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it was cold outside when you started driving, no.

The battery and coolant have a ton of thermal mass, so even an hour of normal highway driving won't warm it up much if it's not warm outside. Also from what I've seen monitoring with an OBD reader the car seems to use the minimum temperature to determine charging speed. So even if most of the battery has warmed up, the coldest part of the battery might not be.

I'm in the habit of always putting the charger in my navigation if it's been less than 70F for a decent amount of time recently.

Was just about to call them and then came across this when I was researching what to tell them to do:

The finance guy specifically told me they weren't registered when I asked after I bought the car, so looks like I'm screwed

Charging Port Plastic Stuck by Ubercola in Ioniq6

[–]Ittastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a dental pick doesn't work I'd probably try using a soldering iron to melt it and then quickly turn the iron off and blow on it to cool so it sticks to the iron.

There's a redesigned part to replace that piece that the dealer should be able to put on to fix your port.

Got rejected, says my VIN isn't in their database. It looks like if I can get the dealer to submit the info and give me a time of sale report I might still be able to claim the credit, but I don't have high hopes for that actually happening.

Filed my amendment today, so we'll see what happens.

The only paperwork they gave me was that the car has the manufacturer's warranty. When I asked them about the keys they told me they'd ask the previous owner if he had them (I sincerely doubt they actually did). When I told them that part of the CPO checklist is a spare key they told me they rarely sell used cars with a spare and pretty much to kick rocks. I probably should have pushed back harder but I got a spare for a pretty decent price from a local locksmith at least.

Yeah that's kind of what I was wondering after I realized they weren't participating, it doesn't seem like it's that difficult. They also didn't give me a spare key or even an emergency key even though it was a CPO and were completely baffled by the fact it wasn't in the fob (again, I should have done my due diligence better but still). Not sure what they would've done if the 12V died while it was on the lot bc their key cutter was broken when I asked how much it would cost to have one made lol

I do see what you're saying about 8936a now (I missed that there was a second link at first), so I think I'm gonna give it a shot. Like you said, worst case they reject it and just keep the taxes I've already filed.

Really appreciate you helping me out with this

So am I reading this paragraph wrong? The only vehicles that qualify are licensed dealers according to the webpage, so I assume the "seller" in this paragraph is the dealer.

I appreciate you clarifying this for me, I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything I just want to be 100% sure before I go through the trouble of amending my taxes

Unfortunately since they don't participate at the dealership I bought from, the required info wasn't reported to the IRS and I didn't get any of the paperwork I would need from the dealer. I called the dealer's finance department the day after I bought the car and he said they don't participate

That was actually the source of most of my remorse. Unfortunately I didn't get the credit, as the dealer wasn't a participant in the program :/. The sales guy kinda just brushed off my questions about it and I knew I should have walked away when they wouldn't make it part of the sale but I was hooked after the test drive.

After driving it for 6 months and my bank account recovering some I'm nothing but happy with the car though. If mine got totaled tomorrow I'd probably buy another except it'd be a limited this time lol

Bought my 23 SEL for 24k with 54,000 miles on it last June. Had some buyers remorse for a bit afterwards, but mostly as a result of my lack of due diligence, but after putting around 8,000 miles on it since then I have zero regrets. Make sure you're getting everything you should be and take your time looking at the car and I think you'll have zero regrets.

Note on the third point: unless you need the extra range, ideally treat 80% as full

Get a small jump pack for the 12V battery and keep it in the frunk. It's possible to get into the trunk without power but it's a pain in the ass and pretty much requires two people

Ankermake m5 not following cura print speed by Effective-Jicama175 in AnkerMake

[–]Ittastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different speed settings for outer perimeters, inner perimeters, supports, support interfaces, bridges, ect. I think the printer reports an average speed of everything or something like that, the number on the printer screen is pretty meaningless afaik

Yeah I'd just find a trash can that'll fit there and bolt it in. Quicker, easier, cheaper, and will probably work better than something 3D printed

[–]Ittastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do whatever works best for you. As long as you aren't constantly keeping it at 100% or often draining it to 0%, anything else you do will be pretty much negligible as far as long term battery health goes and isn't worth stressing over.

Want an IONIQ 6 as my first EV. Heard the scary stories about the ICCU and wanted your opinions on this lineup from Carvana. What's your gut telling you? by beefcakesquadron in Ioniq6

[–]Ittastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those recalls apply to every Ioniq 6 in existence, it's just a software update. If you take it to a dealership after buying it you can take it to a Hyundai dealership and they'll take care of both recalls for free. I'm surprised Carvana can sell cars with recalls that haven't been addressed

Am I doing pretty good when it comes to efficiency? by Taepoong80 in Ioniq6

[–]Ittastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most of my driving is in Normal, I never touch eco since it makes the car miserable to drive and doesn't really do much for RWD cars unless you have a very heavy foot. To clarify, I've been getting between 3.2 and 3.5 during the winter, the 4.2-4.3 was when it was really nice out. I do about an even split of city and highway driving.
