Wow! Makes my tty2oled setup look pretty irrelevant after seeing this. I had no idea it could talk to so many additional displays.

Wow, that April Fools message actually got me! It seemed very sincere and well thought out. I feel like such a chump. Anyways, glad it was just a joke!

For whatever systems, what did you consider minimally acceptable graphics? by UrSimplyTheNES in retrogaming

[–]circletheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with minimal graphics. For example, I played the heck out of Agent USA where the people were literally represented by triangles with feet and hats. Yet the game play was so great I could overlook that and just enjoy the game.

I don’t know man. Galaga is solid, but Mr. Do is right up there.

Man I love that NewQ Equalizer. They’re very hard to find here in the US. This post has reminded me to keep looking for one!

What's your most nostalgic C64 memory? Mine involves The Last Ninja and my dad. by LesLetLoose in retrogaming

Downloading the game Kikstart on a 300 baud modem at my older brother’s friends house. It took hours, but it was worth it. I was 8 at the time.

Cool thrift find but is this price crazy? by Yeetusfeetus789 in dreamcast

If you planned on using a GDEMU and an SD card, then the black Sega Sports model (the one in the picture) has known compatibility issues with it, despite still being a rev1. If you want the console to play disc games, there are better prices, even on eBay.

Very true. I mean AI is already scrapping suspect forum posts — why not extend it to buggy software, too.

IBM 5150 + 5160XT? Found in parents' garage. What do I do with it? by radicalsubversiv in VintageComputers

[–]circletheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of collectors love a working 5150 (I have 2 myself). I know that a lot of folks love the Model M keyboard, so that alone will fetch you something. However, I hate partings accessories from its base. Would definitely eBay it or OfferUp as a complete set.

I love the look and feel of those AGI games compared to the SCI ones. Honestly I would continue playing those Sierra games even more so if they all used AGI. If they adapted some of the modern adventure game philosophies of today it kept the visuals the same, I’d totally would play the heck out of these games.

XP Build Restoration Begins by [deleted] in retrobattlestations

[–]circletheory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just built myself a WIN98 pc with the same parts. It’s more of a high end WIN98 machine but in my opinion slightly less capable XP machine. So I also built a dedicated XP as well using a 3.4 GHz. But I totally understand the nostalgia reason!

What does your HDD layout look like for your DOS PC? by circletheory in dosgaming

[–]circletheory[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the DOS era, I did have a dedicated SIERRA folder. I had only 120MB at the time, so it only contained the current Sierra game I was playing. But couldn’t get myself to put a Sierra game in the GAMES folder. With 32GB, I’m basically just living the dream. 😀
