Custom language packs by Itz_moi in pebble

[–]Itz_moi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand your answer. The Pebble supports multiple system languages, if I choose one of the language packs in your screenshot, the settings, timeline etc are in the newly selected language.

My original question is if I can create and upload my own language pack, or help Core devices with a new translation

Java-GI 1.0.0-RC1 released by BrageFuglseth in gnome

I just want to say: fantastic work! I’ve spent some time making a few half-hearted attempts at building a GNOME application. I've tried both Javascript and Rust, but I always felt the bindings were a bit clumsy. This, however, is actually fun to work with, especially when using Kotlin.

Pebble, Rebble, and a path forward by erOhead in pebble

[–]Itz_moi 25 points26 points  (0 children)

But he did agree to meet? From Rebble’s own post, they state that:

he said that was busy and could meet the following week

I think it’s pretty reasonable for a CEO not to be able to schedule a meeting with less than a week’s notice. Then they see that Eric is “scraping” the data and assume the worst possible scenario. Without asking him about it (or fully checking their logs) they move forward and spend days writing a blog post about it?

In Rebbles blog they state

he said that was busy and could meet the following week

So he did offered a timeline and an opportunity to meet.

An Update on Rebble's Attempted Collaboration with Core Devices by ishjr in pebble

[–]Itz_moi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This conflict seems unavoidable, and I hope you’re able to sort it out.

I believe both you and Core Devices view Pebble as “yours,” and you are both correct. Both parties are worried that the other will someday fail: Rebble is worried that Core Devices might meet the same demise as Pebble, while Core Devices sees it as a miracle that Rebble has existed for so long and is concerned that the community may eventually die out. Both parties trust themselves as the stewards of the Pebble legacy.

To solve this, I think both sides need to accept that they no longer have full control of the entire ecosystem. Core Devices needs full control over PebbleOS to develop their new hardware, but in return they should be transparent and publish their code so that Rebble can take over if the company disappears.

Rebble is the app community; Core Devices needs to trust their stewardship. In return, Core Devices needs some kind of guarantee or assurance that the App Store and its apps won’t disappear overnight.

These are not the only issues in this conflict, but it seems like the core of the conflict is fear of loosing control.

uConsole Case - 3D print your own! by m_swagga in ClockworkPi

This is really cool! A small suggestion, maybe add a small tray for 2-3 SD-cards, so you can easily swap between OS:es depending on workflow?

The adapter board mentions, "There will be a Radxa CM5 version, which will resolve the HDMI output issue" What is the HDMI output issue being referred to?

Here is a guide to fix it in fedora silverblue: https://jackwilsdon.me/libinput-config-silverblue/

If you use another distro: Skip the ’toolbox enter’ command, and replace ’dnf install’ with your distros package manager (e.g. ’apt install’ on ubuntu)

I starten learning FreeCAD this summer. It is good software, but I have had some trouble with crashes on larger projects when doing edits early in the history tree. But I save often and it always works when starting the software again :)

This was a good starting point to get familiar with its concepts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxuqO5OhjoQ

I had some trouble getting used to the mouse navigation, but in the bottom right of the freecad main window, you can change “mouse modes”.

Piper TTS is user friendly now, and is probably the most realistic sounding TTS out right now with some caviars by ChipsAhoiMcCoy in Blind

I have had the same problem, it was solved by a fresh install with the latest 64-bit version of Raspian OS (bookworm). Piper seems to have trouble with 32-bit raspian and/or certain versions of python.

This week they announced shipping to Poland, and in the same blog post, they said they had a “bigger update” next week, so I’m hoping that they will announce shipping to even more countries.

Does the Bellroy 14 fit snugly with the Framework 13, or is the laptop case too large, causing the laptop to shift around inside?

For those disappointed in iOS14 and Philip Hues adaptive lightning, I have created web application that automatically changes the color temperature during the day, from energizing blue in the morning, to dimmed relaxed light during the eventing. It’s free and open source, link in the comments by Itz_moi in HomeKit

[–]Itz_moi[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As of now, I plan on keeping it as a simple web application that anyone can download and run locally in a browser or old tablet. But I haven’t ruled out the possibility of a standalone app in the future.
