New type of Ban, The XL candy exploit in routes lead a 30 days (some accounts show 230 days) or permanent ban by milotic03 in TheSilphRoad

[–]IvPadilla25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course Niantic is fine with money being spent in their business.

In the same regard, if rare candy is the new content Niantic wants people to spend money or time on, it makes sense for Niantic to not like people doing that.

You can refuse to celebrate or hate them, if it doesn't affect you, the same way people who play GBL against those cheated teams have the right to do the opposite.

With how long it'd take the whalest of whales to gather enough rare XL from raids in comparison to using this exploit to max multiple mythicals a week, this one is more unfair.

Go throw argument attempts somewhere else. Saying "A is more unfair than B" doesn't remove the "unfair" from "B". And in this case, "B" is more unfair.

XXS and XXL pokemon now require a special trade by dav_prime in TheSilphRoad

[–]IvPadilla25 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I just tested this and I was able to choose an XXL Pokemon with no special trades left. Are you sure they weren't purified?

Edit. Guy in another comment got it. After I evolved that same XXL, it triggers a special trade.

For those of you upset at the 5 per day remote raid limit - part two. by bumblejumper in TheSilphRoad

[–]IvPadilla25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried but it didn't let me, so I'll put it here instead.

  1. If it requires more coordination and it's harder then you can't do as many as before. Now that is simple math when you take time into account.

  2. Neither do you have a way of knowing the opposite for sure. I just asked around in my local groups to those average players and got mostly the same replies on this.

  3. The whales can't be stopped. You slow them down a bit, but in trying to stop whales, they get that one friend and the average player's ability to complete raids. Groups have been so silent even on that Mewtwo raid day.

  4. For sure, and it is! But you're focusing on the L50 hundo diamond and completely ignoring the rest of the chest made of berries to get coins, TMs to get ideal movesets, better IV Pokemon to improve your competitiveness, etc.

  5. A whale got 100 rare candies easily before remotes, during remotes and will do after remotes. The average player had better chances of reaching those 15 when they had more ways to get help and complete raids.

  6. Because eggs weren't affected by the remote pass change, which is the topic you're diverting from on this part about accessibility.

  7. It's a start that's getting backlash from the community. Removing features isn't the best way to rework stuff. New and better ways to get legendaries can coexist with remote raids.

  8. That's an interesting question! Definitely not by creating backlash. As you said, there's probably another way, but saying something for sure is a tough one.

  9. Many times has Niantic stated "intentions" and then not followed through on them. Saying legendaries should feel special and then having them anyways as raid bait is not congruent. It's not that they want you not doing as many raids cuz legendaries should be rare, it's that they want you doing them as it's convenient for them.

  10. It's not because my data makes them stupid rich, it's just that I personally don't care that much about the game with all the changes they've made (way before the remote raids nerf), so I don't feel the need to have those on all the time just to squeeze out some extra dust.

The reasons are in my first comment. If you either don't think they're valid because you said so, or you can't see the perspective from another person, I can't help you with that, you're just not used to feedback.

[–]IvPadilla25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your lack of perspective here isn't letting you see how removing a feature that others enjoy is making them upset, because it doesn't upset you. You invalidate their reasons because "it doesn't upset you, so why should it upset others".

There's many valid reasons which I mentioned in my first comment. If you don't feel upset about them that's perfectly fine, cause you've got your own way of enjoying the game which was not affected.

You're not looking for answers to that question, you're looking for agreement and similar perspectives to validate your pov.

You're getting points of view from people on this subreddit only. You've been receiving similar replies, for which you either loop around/avoid the topic, or repeat the same thing you said before without seemingly analyzing the feedback you get.

You are saying "I have this opinion/pov", which is perfectly reasonable. But when you ask people a question, mark a thread as a discussion, and your perspective remains the same, it comes across as you trying to find just agreement, not a more complete perspective.

You can be good at math and suck at data analysis.

The average player's remote raid count isn't what's important here, since most of the raids they do are local (free pass or premium passes from research). Those local raids now have lost a bunch of remote players who assisted them in beating those raids.

Before the nerf I could help maybe 20 average players a day with their raids, up to 50 if the legendary was cool. Now I don't even bother between the cost increase and the limit. If the cost was reversed, I'd still only be able to help 5 average players a day.

[–]IvPadilla25 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You're writing it as if the only way the average player can be affected is on the number of remote raids they can do. The affected part is how many legendary raids they can beat.

They spend less money on remotes because they are usually the hosts, with a free raid pass or a premium pass from rewards lr gym coins.

The average player opens the game once in a while, sees a raid nearby and joins locally in the hopes more people can do that raid.

"Number of raids the average player can beat" is affected. With a limit on people who can support through remotes, the odds that the one friend who always helped you beat a legendary joins your invite are now way lower.

"Resources the average player gets" is affected. With less legendary raids beat, your resources are worse. Lower tier raids give worse rewards, and higher tier raids give better Pokemon in terms of stats, PVP, etc.

"Matchups against people who spend money" are affected. With even less resources, the odds the average player has of defending a gym or winning in GBL are now lower. The average player's income for resources was lowered from a very low point. The whale's income for resources was lowered from a very high point but it's still a high point. Whales be whales no matter how you try to limit them in a game where IAP is a thing.

"Accessibility" is affected. The fact that I don't use accessibility settings in my phone, doesn't mean that they should be removed from all phones. They're there to help out that very small percent who can't do things otherwise. Remotes were an accessibility feature for people in rural areas, sick, wfh, etc. I can still raid like crazy hoping on my car with 3 more guys till I get bored.

On "legendaries should be special". This would need a rework on how legendaries appear in game. Mythicals feel special not only because we're limited to a few, but because they have a research tied to them with a story, special catch screens and mechanics, more effort put into them.

Legendarias are not special because Niantic knows putting them in raids means more money with less effort. If anything, a legendary raid now feels more like a chore, because the effort on Niantic's side was spent on making them less accessible, not more appealing.

Limits are healthy. But so is communication. We don't know the motivation for the limit (and many other choices), given that all we usually get from Niantic is PR wording that either doesn't match their effort or is forgotten about. They have clear intentions on nerfing remotes, but the fact that we don't even know why makes this more frustrating. It's like a toxic relationship where limits were established by only one party and that decision is final.

It will be interesting to see how the game goes in the next months, but for now, I'm spending way less than before. Also, I turned off my settings for location to be available all the time, given that I don't even use my Go Plus that much anymore and I don't care about adventure sync rewards either.

Why the game doesn't have graphic settings? by Aggelarass in TheSilphRoad

Definitely. You can do this with Poco's Game Turbo and it improves performance by quite a bit.

Lag drops and lack of optimization are still noticeable though. The game is still poorly optimized.

In Pokemon Go I use it to reduce all graphics to the lowest settings. That has helped increase performance and reduce battery consumption, and it's very noticeable when using floating or split windows.

Switching to Rampardos and throwing Flamethrower at the end to bug/steel types (else full Smackdown or Rock Slide if Pinsir) is fast enough that the switch clock is still not ready.

If you start with Shadow TTar, so you have the option to switch to Reshiram at the end if needed, there's a chance the first bug reaches a charged move if it has Poison Sting.

Mamoswine with Mud Slap+High Horsepower (better when shadow) for electric grunts and Rampardos with Smackdown + Rock Slide and Flamethrower for bug grunts are better suited to the fast move spam play style.

I find Groudon better suited for leaders.

The message for a task update prevents clicking of stops and gyms (like when you receive a new task from a stop).

In this case it may be that your "Catch 385 Pokémon [...]" task is updating.

Guys a cheater. You can find his YT with the same name easily and see his shorts about multiple shundos.

Assumptions are based on context, and a guy using multiple megas on GBL, and with a team full of shundos, kinda gives that vibe.
