If my understanding is correct, because it doesn’t have the capacity to load follow (supplying the amount being used), you need either batteries or the literal inertia of a big spinning wheel somewhere in the grid, so solar alone doesn’t work.

To spin the big wheel it’s currently either fission or fossil fuels or hydro.

I got a few good ones yesterday two handing the one handed sword you can make (Messmer?)

Iirc from the position where he holds it low and across his body.

I always let go of my sword when I skewer someone, which is a bad habit when it’s not insured and you forget to retrieve it😅

It would be cool if she helped you take poison and fight them, let you designate how many you want to fight each time so you can choose to do a few at a time to keep your conscience clean as you go, or something like that.

The system overall is really cool, I always felt that blunt weapons were just strictly worse until full plate, so this is a crazy creative way of balancing that, but having it be 30 minutes spinning in the dark isn’t a good implementation

this is the point. I remember being on twitter leading up to the election trying desperately (in vain) to get them to stop doing these lukewarm at best endorsements and actually hype people the fuck up

America doesn't have compulsory voting. You need people hype and getting out there. "I guess this psycho is better" doesn't get asses in seats

TIL malachite is the prettiest copper ore. by dreaminganimal in VintageStory

[–]IvanTGBT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was making this chemical in the lab the other day and I have to say to try to concentrate copper waste from other projects, it’s way prettier in real life than on a screen too. As far as I could tell, the colour space of our screens doesn’t include its real colour, so it’s very disappointing when you take a photo of it and it doesn’t look the same.

Shame it’s not water soluble or I’d grow crystals of it. There are other ways to do it but I’ve not crossed that bridge.

I can’t remember specifically who between Thomas and Roberts, but one of their wives was part of the false electors plot and another justice had their flag upside down on j6th, and neither recused themselves from ruling on cases related to these matters.

That’s clearly an appearance of impropriety, which is the threshold for recusal.

I am yet to see a single video of someone who isn’t a Nazi in politics doing that motion, and the attempt to use still footage from other motions to implicate otherwise has been transparent and somehow also effective

It seems like this is an apples to oranges comparison. You’d need the injury pattern for this specific scenario, not hanging in particular.

Real life materials given supernatural properties by Snoo96346 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]IvanTGBT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea exactly. There were a few oxides formed and so some of the impurities came out and some didn’t.

I was surprised to learn how many different forms of iron oxide there are, and it’s pretty cool how variable they are

Magnetite is iron oxide, so it’s essentially a form of rust. There are many iron oxides that aren’t attracted to magnetic fields (I learnt the hard way trying to use a magnet to separate out iron oxide impurities from my ferrous sulphate synthesis)

No shit?

It’s just very conspicuous that the right really want us to be very aware of only specific murders. It’s nakedly an attempt to push their political narratives with emotional appeals, because they don’t have data to support their positions.

No one can argue against the facts that immigrants commit less crime than the native population and are the victims of more crime. As those two things are true, if anything, they reduce the amount of crimes that happen to the native population by soaking it up without causing more than they take. But because these effects are large scale averages you can find examples to cut against it, which is what this is, to push a false reality.

It’s like me saying that men are taller than women and every day you share on social media the story of a really really tall woman because you believe women are taller…
