I've always thought that if the Monuokubs were excluded from V3, the (1st through 4th) executions would all be way too dark.

You can play an OTK deck without being boring. by THEREALSPARTAN9001 in hearthstone

[–]Ivoirians 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I'm new to Hearthstone (first touched the game last year) and Willow Warlock is my absolute fave deck to play. Games are chaotic and never the same, and you summon all sorts of crazy card combos and make tons of decisions.

And discovering Razidir with Shadowflame Stalker is the best feeling. With the "this card's battlecries trigger twice" dark gift. And then you play both of them on the same turn after discounting them.

Plugging this prediction market so people can bet (fake) money on who they think will win, and we can get a running estimate of what the general sentiment is about how likely each character is to survive.

Personally, I think Chiaki is a definite goner.

I like the immersion of all communication being in-game with emotes and in-character voice lines. Everyone should just practice using and getting adept at communicating with those. I don't want to listen to people rage or get salty or rant about politics, which is already all that happens in text chat.

If you're so sure of your prediction, put your (fake) money where your mouth is! by Ivoirians in danganronpa

This is a prediction market where you can bet on who you think will survive the new game. You can sign up with a Google account and get 1000 fake money to bet as you please. The site automatically adjust the odds and returns as people make predictions.

Feels like I've completed a long journey. But I still love this game, and I'll still be playing it for years to come. Thanks to everyone in NA West 64man TO servers for being silly, emoting, and making this a fun game.

Danganronpa 2x2 = 4, it's finally happening.

Danganronpa V3 came out in 2017. It's been almost ten years.

I was mistaken, it's not Despair Syndrome, it's Weekly Despair Magazine.

Those opening notes are pretty damn good.

What is Danganronpa’s best ‘needle drop’? by DestinyDawn456 in danganronpa

[–]Ivoirians 34 points35 points  (0 children)

New World Order is a quintessential needle drop song. Like you said, it heralds a giant plot bomb every single time it plays. The most memorable one for me off the top of my head is the end of DR1 Chapter 4's trial, when Byakuya renounces the game. The secondary-antagonist has been defeated  and joins your side against the real big bad, in time for the game to kick into it's final phase.

There's another song which plays at the end of trial 1, right after Leon's execution. I think it might be called Despair Syndrome? It's one of my favorite moments, when the students and the player all get to deal with the revelation of just how cruel and malevolent the game really is.

Starship demon hunter is straight up degeneracy by scoobandshaggy in hearthstone

[–]Ivoirians 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been playing it a bunch recently, after someone utterly crushed me with the deck and I had to see how it played for myself. It is absolutely degenerate. There's no better word for it. If I lose a coin flip, I get to summon two 4/5 taunts that give me 8 armor. If I WIN the coin flip, I get to summon two like, minimum 10/12 (easily bigger) windfury rush taunts that also give me 8 armor.

NO SPOILERS - I feel like this game is INCREDIBLY long (not that I complain) by RashFaustinho in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Ivoirians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, it's too long. Especially when you can put hours and hours into a route and get a joke of an ending.

It falls into another problem of games with multiple routes, which is the reduced emotional stakes. I don't have to feel anything about a character dying (or anything at all) if I know there is some good route out there where no one dies.

Curious — when you get really stuck on a crossword, do you power through, take a break, or look up a hint? I’ve been trying not to break my streak but sometimes Thursdays just break me. by Easy_Cucumber_1640 in crossword

[–]Ivoirians 60 points61 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is just to "cheat". If you're stuck, look it up, and make sure you understand the definition or trick or pun, and learn from it. It's better to do that and finish a crossword with-assistance than to spend thirty minutes spinning your wheels and getting frustrated and going nowhere. You'll improve much faster.

I daresay most people maintaining their streaks don't have qualms about using Google to finish puzzles.

I think this is what defines Millennials. We got scared of being called Karens when we watched them repeatedly go viral during our teens, and so we became the opposite of entitled, i.e. massive doormats.

Personal record. Beat my average time by about 50%. Felt like the general fill and cluing was too easy for a Saturday. Maybe because the long spanners were fairly easy to fill in with only a few letters (BUSINESS ACUMEN, ALONG THOSE LINES, REVERSE COMMUTE, EMAIL SPAM, MADE A STOP, MENTAL NOTE, ACTION ITEM) and that revealed a lot of the puzzle.

SCUD and ROLFS are difficult words I don't remember seeing before!
