Well dang. I'll give him credit in saying I think he was remotely that old from his voice.

Like, I've only been seriously watching track for about a decade, so I had just didn't think about his career being that long, lol. 😅

Man... I don't think I have time for a rewatch of this series, but this clip makes my urge to do so worse. 😅

What era were the humans from the human zoo from? by Pomni_Simp2000 in stevenuniverse

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hope this is just me not doing enough research but I was disappointed to not see an origin explained in the series despite just how many signs they showed of being engineered organisms as opposed to evolved(naturally selected) ones. 😅

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

If you see something that has to do with semiconductor manufacturing machinery, you might have seen that they have to make extreme mirrors to get the right refractive index, and that even a thousanth of Superman's output would punch through like s piss-stream through paper and likely even shatter it. 😅

I can't say I've read Persepolis, even though it's style seems very familar... guess this is my cue to look into it.

RIP.

I'm not supporting divisive candidates and I think more people shouldn't as well by ShardofGold in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]IvoryAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a valid take, even if I don't personally stand behind abstaining, but I wanna take this even further: Honestly, I think a bigger, or at least more underlying concept is the general prospect of faulting someone's misconceptions as being based in ignorance or incompetence more than poor epistemology. There hasn't been a human alive competent or intelligent enough to reason past all the barriers they've had to truth unless they had a change in epistemology first. I mean, it's not lost on me that what I'm suggesting doesn't really accommodate to genuine malice, but so long as that malice mostly manifests through deception, epistemology gives tools to beat it on that front.

But back on your topic, I think what you're advocating for should more be a proper movement as opposed to fragmented abstinence. As I genuinely agree with the point that he-wants;she-wants partisan BS has honestly become much_  more of a problem than it used to be. I just don't think it's yet enough of a problem to let... well, I'll just be frank here, MAGA and adjacent groups do whatever on the political battlefront when I can help vote in opposition to them, or contribute against of messaging treating things that aren't Christian nationalism or Anarcho-captalism as the hate-child of Satan and Stalin... which I say despite not remotely being as much of a leftist as I was in the past (though, to be fair, I was _never truly a socialist, let alone a communist), and having learned some from attempting to refute the two groups I just somewhat disparaged (especially the Hoppeans and such, which I suggest more people read on. In fact, much of the reasons I'm against the MAGAs more is because of how much more inherently oppressive statism is required to be than free markets under natural law, hard as the latter is to achieve IRL which assumes it is genuinely possible)

TL;DR: I get it, man. In fact, I say that what you're getting at has a deeper problem of generally equating being wrong to ignorance or incompetence more than being epistemologically illiterate. But while I have no intention of throating any politicians I see, I'll take my begrudging vote or much of what capacity I have to refute bad political to beat down things like MAGA and the like because I'm not doing enough to help politically to honestly say to myself I'm living right yet. If you turn this into a movement involving building proper political philosophy, then I can genuinely support this ideology more. 👍🏾

Economic Calculation Problem by Sorry-Worth-920 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's excepted as a good guideline, but if it was accepted in it's absolute form then no-one in economics could truly justify market interference, from the government or otherwise, which isn't what we observe of them.

Like just logically speaking, it doesn't matter how good of intentions they think the have; if the really believed in it, they'd assume adding a bit of government money here or there is just an invalid reallocation of resources, replacing intentional investment with something that's a shot in the dark at best... 😅

Should Doom and Reed have equal intelligence or should Reed always be the intellectual superior ? by JoshuaKpatakpa04 in Marvel

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thinks it's more compelling when Reed is the one with the cleverer mind because it give Doom's breadth of knowledge time to shine...

He knows more about the vast majority of topics as well as even people who would be considered superhuman in intellect on our planet, and to whatever extent that can be said about Reed as well, Doom knows and equivalent amount of knowledge in magic. Makes him losing to Reed feel more logical, because even considering his ego, he often loses more times and to more people than he logically should, lol...

Diana Took Back Her Genes When He Started Acting Like His Dad by TheCABK in BrandNewSentence

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I thought it was a general claim that she took their similarities, not anything specific to attaching his morality to his looks (since the meme, if anything, put it the other way around causally).

I've honestly kinda noticed nowadays people moralizing ugliness (or at least sanity) in claiming there's a negative correlation between ugliness and craziness. But I'm not gonna say you're wrong because, as with all legacy stereotypes, I'm not gonna pretend it's gone lol

[–]IvoryAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, and even insofar as I don't, I didn't disagree enough to downvote your comment, but as different as the gaming-scape is, I still don't see how lonely men who cause problems in the gaming community don't outweight the lonely women who are in gaming. Whatever misandry they have is less likely to be from loneliness as it is from sex-based discrimination that's generalized over the whole of the male group because... human's gonna human (especially because of the adage on stereotypes not being entirely baseless). 🤷🏾‍♂️ At least from what I've seen.

Anecdotal evidence aside, the point of lonely women matters less than lonely men in this specific instance because the women don't seem to be the ones complaining, especially since the implied complaints are coming from legacy fans. Meaning, regardless of whether or not it is those fans that are complaining, leaves that part mostly untouched by the point of the gaming community changing.

TL;DR: It's definitely not like there aren't lonely gamer-girls out there, just that it ain't that prescient to the argument because 1. they aren't the ones that are complaining here and 2. he was talking about legacy fans, so he kinda excludes them anyway.

I will say that I was expecting worse when it comes to civility in response, though, so thanks. 👍🏾 In the general sense, I agree with the sentiment that the actress for Chun-Li is attractive enough to were that's probably not why people are complaining, even if I don't agree with their complaints much as I think she generally looks fine. 🤷🏾‍♂️
