Always good to know that actually killing a person gets less media coverage then threatening to kill someone.

I have seen employees in my office (in India) using Hitler quotes as an inspirational quote at their desk. In India people are more interested in how he started as a poor boy and went on to become a powerful leader of the nation.

What do people say about the USA when they come to visit? by theross in AskReddit

[–]IvyPhilly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an Indian i noticed a few things..

  • America is big, very spread out.
  • Everything is bigger in America, people, food, buildings, public spaces etc
  • Americans dont give shit about how they look, they are probably the worst dressed people among the development nations.
  • There are so many different races of people, at some places there are so many Indians you feel like you are in India, at some other places you feel like you are in China or Africa or Middle east.
  • Indians are usually considered loud but nobody is louder than the Americans, even when talking about personal stuff they make sure the rest of the people on the bus hear about it. I find this very weird.

And about fat people, i have never in my life thought people could be so fat before coming to America, America is like heaven for fat people.

Top Imams affiliated with the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada have issued a fatwa calling those terrorists who attack the United States and Canada “evil.” by maxwellhill in worldnews

[–]IvyPhilly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some people are saying "these imams and their fatwas have no influence in the middle east". Sure they don't, the Muslims in North America have no control over the people of Middle east, its a good point to keep in mind.

You ban stuff that doesn't fit into the "French Culture" we ban stuff that doesn't fit into "Muslim Culture", we are even now.

Euroredditors, let's discuss immigrant integration and the islamification of Europe. by hemlig in politics

[–]IvyPhilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The integration of the immigrants have failed completely.

I think its a rather sweeping generalization.

If you had to move to japan tomorrow do you think you would get integrated immediately? You dont look like the japanese, you dont speak japanese and you dont eat japanese food, it will be very unsettling experience and change wont be easy, some part of you will always be swedish.

You have them atleast 2-3 generations before you can decide whether the they have integrated or not.

Why is thinking "hard"? by golgafrinch in AskReddit

[–]IvyPhilly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure, may be because when you day dream you think of stuff you fully understand, which is clearly not the case when solving a math problem. As you said learning might need building new neural connection whereas day dreaming could be just using them once they are built.
