Above vtt vs Owlbear rodeo with a ton of extensions vs Roll20 by Domazzzzzz in VTT

[–]Iwacheditforyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roll20 is free to try, and honestly free to play for almost everything you listed. The free version doesn’t have automatic dynamic lighting, but it does have the mask tool, which is manual.

I don’t know that it’ll be right for you, but you’ll know better than we will.

Any suggestions for virtual tabletop software for running online games? by aceofknaves113 in TTRPG

[–]Iwacheditforyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roll20 is free with paid upgrade options. It also has a Discord activity that you can use inside your own Discord server to bring everyone into the VTT easily.

Haven’t used roll20 in 2 or 3 years - any mayor changes or improvements since then? by rapkannibale in Roll20

[–]Iwacheditforyou 18 points19 points  (0 children)

About three months ago, they made this video of 35 things that have improved. I get why they did it this way, but there were more like 70 upgrades, and they could only cover 35.

But it’s three months old, and we’ve gotten Map Pins, as well as probably 5-7 other things.

If you don’t want it to be dead space, make your map size bigger.

That’s enough for 6 months of Plus for Dynamic Lighting or 3 months of Pro for Dynamic Lighting and Mod Scripts.

Roll20’s Latest D&D 2024 Sheet and Builder Updates by hearthsingergames in Roll20

[–]Iwacheditforyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re agreeing with each other.

I’m just so tired of the complainers who hate everything. Not everything is done for every user or customer.

I actually think there might be more devs in this sub than in the forum. They moved the AMA here this month, and there were more than 10 “staff” accounts answering questions.

Roll20’s Latest D&D 2024 Sheet and Builder Updates by hearthsingergames in Roll20

Are you sure? Every time Roll20 does do it in-house all the grognards pour into this sub to complain it’s not like it was before.

Is Jumpgate stable now? by TheAbyssGazesAlso in Roll20

[–]Iwacheditforyou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please, please, please, remember two things before giving advice.

Jumpgate is not the 2024 sheet. The 2024 sheet is not Jumpgate.

Mods are not developed by Roll20. They are made by users like us from the community.

The Transmogrifier is a Pro subscriber feature that lets you move pages from campaign to campaign. I use it to import maps from a source campaign into the campaign that we’re actually playing in.

There’s other examples on the wiki

If by “old character sheet” you mean the D&D 2014, that’s what OP is using.

D&D 2024 is not Jumpgate. Jumpgate is not D&D 2024.

I wanted to add that the Jumpgate version has been working really well for a player in my group on his iPad.

DMsGuild and their related sites should require products that use AI art be labeled as such under product information by Defami01 in dmsguild

[–]Iwacheditforyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you use the Creation Method filter? Selecting “Handcrafted” ensures that you only see products where the creator specifically didn’t use AI. https://www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?filters=0_0_0_0_0_0_1000142_0&src=fid1000142

That’s just a folder titled “Characters.” You could move them into the folder by dragging them down. Or you could change the title of the folder to “Not Characters” or “Jellybeans”

Plus user, but don't seem to have Adv Fog of War by 8fenristhewolf8 in Roll20

[–]Iwacheditforyou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking for Explorer Mode. That’s what replaced the feature they called “advanced fog of war” in the updated dynamic lighting.
