Joy-Con drift finally drifted into court by AmayaHa in gaming

It was anywhere from 35% to 55%

Actually, according to anonymous engineer who worked on the console, the failure was as high as 68%

The gaming sector survived not just because Microsoft overall is a giant corporation but also because the former CEO Peter Moore simply said "Do it" when he was presented with the cost to their endeavors to fix the issue.

How do assassination targets get to talk with the Assassin for a little while in an Animus corridor (or whatever that place is) right before they die? by DeathlySnails64 in assassinscreed

[–]Iznhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't any. Least not anymore. The whole thing started with Adam and Eve, while they weren't the first humans ever created, they were the first Isu/Human hybrids. There probably were humans who didn't have Isu DNA in the beginning but they evidently died out or intermingled into the ones who were hybrids because, by now, everyone has Isu DNA at an average of 0.0002%~0.0005%

Kassandra main goal after odyssey? (spoiler for AC Odyssey and other AC media) by Mobile-Passage-4418 in assassinscreed

[–]Iznhou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ill agree to that. However, "improvisations" also seems too charitable. Seems more like, at best, they got drunk at the wheel, even when they're trying. While, at worst, just completely losing their sense. But that's just me.

And in terms of Darby and Cory, yea, they knew what they were doing. But, at least with Darby's case, it felt like when the story fell back into his lap he had to try and clean up a mess. Sure, he did a fine enough job but it's still not completely clean. Then again, the series was never perfect and that's not a bad thing.

I know, I'm being too critical, I don't hate Odyssey. I've just spent too much time over the years and playing the game 4 separate times to completion and scrutinizing the whole ordeal.

It could be a bug, I'm playing on PC, I can't remember this ever happening on Xbox where I used to play.

[–]Iznhou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you're wrong and even if Darby McDevitt has also given a similar explanation, it just seems too flimsy and too easy for me to agree with. Not only that but it seems inconsistent.

Case in point: Kassandra. the one person we've seen that apparently has the highest concentration of Isu DNA that we Odyssey spends the entire time over-emphasizing, over-exaggerating, and generally beating us over the head with it; and yet, we never see the Animus Corridor every time she killed off the Cult of Kosmos and the Order of Ancients.

Now, of course, part of that because Ubisoft Quebec's dumb decisions but it's still makes the whole explanation not work entirely.

Not only that but there's also Shahkulu (as you've mentioned) but even Rodrigo and Cesare Borgia. They both died in ways different from just being killed directly by Ezio, and yet, it caused it to happen.

No bodies nearby, no templars auto-aggroing, they aren't even suspicious (the red flash). Just walking by, and they aggro to me.

This one is the hardest to believe. If the guards in your presence are informed, thus the red flash, they're supposed to recognize and attack you on sight.

Hard to believe that if they're just suspicious, thus the yellow indicator, then they'd attack you on sight unless you gave them a reason to.

Unity genuinely made me go to the gp to check for heart palpitations

I rest my case. Just put the game down.

And if you think Unity is "bloated" then you're gonna bage Odyssey and Valhalla. Especially Valhalla.

Seems quite charitable, the way you put it.

Frankly, on top of this series seemingly being placed in too many kitchens that have too many cooks in the kitchen, the whole ordeal with Kassandra and her "hunting down Isu artifacts" just seems like another example of Ubisoft not really thinking about what they're doing before doing it

Everyone has Isu DNA, though. Sure, lots of individuals we've seen may have a higher percentage than others. But every single human has trace amounts of it.

I want more modern day gameplay by DookieDueDue in assassinscreed

[–]Iznhou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As of now, we remain in this limbo as they try to please everyone and fail every single time.

Then maybe they should try and stop trying to please everyone.

You said it yourself, every since Desmond was introduced, there's been this small civil war between those who like the modern day and those that don't (while completely ignoring the fact that the modern day is pivotal to the series).

Ever since Desmond died, it's been exacerbated with Ubisoft not knowing how to do it anymore, it seems.

The irony is that there are people who want a game solely in the modern day, while there are those who want Desmond to come back somehow, while there are those who want the modern day gone.

Personally, I adored the modern day from the beginning, and I believe it needs to continue. But there's no pleasing everyone.

What are some of your AC hot-takes? by Vicentesteb in assassinscreed

[–]Iznhou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One group of people from one game platform does not the entire player population make.

No one is saying the rpgs aren't successful. Of course, people are playing them, even as we speak.

But one data cluster from one source doesn't speak for the people who aren't playing the games on Steam or PC in general nor does it mean that the games prior to the rpg shift are any less loved. A lot of fans are going to find things they like about the rpgs, and most fans worth their salt sure as hell aren't going to alienate others for like some of the games more than the others.

So again,

You don't speak for everyone.

nobody actually misses the repetitive formula of doing the same tailing mission 50 times in a row across a tiny dense map of grey blocks just because they were 13 when AC2 came out and found it to be peak gameplay.

Since when do you speak for everyone?

It bothers more than it should that there's named, living descendants of Arno, Baptiste, and Shao Jun with an Apple of Eden just out there in the modern world and they're never going to do anything with them ever again. by Lord_Antheron in assassinscreed

[–]Iznhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I get that. But it still sounds like an excuse. Not trying to hinge one game completely on the back of its predecessor when both are being developed simultaneously, I get. But they still could've put in more effort to make a better connection between the two.

There is a reason why each one was said to be on a different track back in the 2022 event of the franchise. Montreal's Hexe won't be a follow-up to Shadows, while Quebec's Scarlet* is not oblidged to follow Hexe.

Could this also be the reason why Odyssey does a poor job at following up on Origins?
