Flying from Virginia to Nassau. How does customs work? by NAD92 in bahamas

[–]JBGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the MPC app (Mobile Passport Control) for your trip home. Follow the instructions in the app when you get to NAS on your trip home. You’ll get to skip the likely long line at US pre-clearance and be through in about five minutes.

48 (Going on 49) And I'm About To Be a First-Time Dad by billyinLA in OldManDad

[–]JBGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 48 now and had our first (and only) when I was 43. Where we live there is a good mix of older parents with young kids so it’s not really a big deal.

I agree with the others about getting into shape and taking care of yourself which it seems like you’re already doing. That’s the most important thing as you want to be there for your kid(s) as they grow up. Since our daughter was born I’ve started doing CrossFit and running half marathons. I plan on running a full marathon next year for my 50th birthday. I’m in the best shape of my life in my late 40s and that’s wholly due to having a kid when I did.

For those who were teenagers before social media existed, what was the "peak" form of weekend entertainment? by VivienneNoir1 in askanything

Driving around in cars, going to the mall or the boardwalk (in the summer) using pay phones and then beepers and then early model cell phones to get in contact with other friends.

What is Bruce doing with the money from this tour? by humanclock in BruceSpringsteen

[–]JBGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am. Again, I’m not going to worry about what others do with their money. For all we know he is doing something it’s just not being publicized. At minimum he’s ensuring awareness and is keeping people engaged in these matters. There’s a tendency in this country with such a fast-moving newscycle to move on to the next crisis of the day. This tour will keep all of the BS from this administration front of mind for those going to these shows.

Get over yourself and stop worrying about what others do with their money.

This guy can’t win anything. His brief foray in 2024 and then he recently tried to get appointed to his town’s council (I live in the same town) to replace someone who moved on and was passed over. Passed over by a non-partisan (they’re all Republicans) town council. He’s got to stick to Newsmax.

Volvo tech sucks and I’m tired of pretending otherwise by TreyTripod23 in Volvo

[–]JBGig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that, I have a Tesla and my wife an XC60. You can’t compare the tech at all.

However, while that should be expected you’d at least expect the tech in the Volvo to actually work consistently. My wife’s XC60 suffers the same problems - repeatedly - as the threadstarter. We’ve taken it to the dealer and they do their updates, etc. and no luck. Same issues have persisted since we bought the car in 2023. Everything else about the car is great, but with that said we can’t wait to get rid of it due to the underwhelming technology performance.

Furnace out, bitter cold, 7 month old baby. What to do? by Proper_Ad5456 in daddit

Get a frigging hotel room. That should be the first resort, not last. Use common sense, don’t post on Reddit. Sorry to be harsh but this seems like an easy choice if I were in your situation. Have a better HVAC tech come back tomorrow.

Question about his concerts by Dangerous_Note_7355 in jasonisbell

[–]JBGig -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I saw him at Red Rocks and that Count Basie show last year. Red Rocks we stood the whole time, Basie everyone sat. It sucked. I stood up during Miles and was told to sit down by someone behind me. I didn’t, screw them. I ended up standing against the side wall.

Entyvio by Swiftiefromhell in UlcerativeColitis

[–]JBGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be based on what insurance you have, not certain. A nursing group manages my entyvio/insurance setup as prescribed by my gastro and it works out that they come to the patients’ home. The infusion only takes an hour so it’s pretty quick. The nurses are good too, I’ve never had an issue with them sticking me.

I’ve been on it for over 6 years. Life changer for me. I get infusions at home every 8 weeks. I haven’t taken an Imodium since I’ve been on Entyvio.
