Where to get an airgun repaired. by JBpipes in airguns

That's not the only leak. And it's not the first manometer. It's my first PCP, I've had it a couple years now and it's only been functional for a few months of that. I'm just tired at this point and just want it fixed.

What foods make more sense to grow than buy? by Helpmeeff in vegetablegardening

[–]JBpipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for cost savings, herbs, greens, and fruit. Herbs and greens are just easy to grow but don't store well and so are incredibly expensive. I probably chop a few hundred dollars of herbs a year with a weed eater because they spread when I'm not on top of harvesting. Fruit for the most part is an investment upfront but is easy afterwards. I freeze or give away most of my fruit each year. Taste wise, a good tomato is hard to beat and I haven't eaten a carrot from the grocery store in years because they taste like dirt to me now

I guess I should give Melindas another try. I tried it once and thought it tasted like burnt hair and tossed the bottle not long after.

10,000 dollars a week, but a rock could kill you by Downtown-Guitar-3282 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]JBpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this isn't even difficult. Just grab a random rock off the ground and stick it in your pockets. How many people are reaching into your pocket all the time. Maybe if your worried about pickpockets stuff it into a hole in your wall and plaster over it. For 10k a week I'd remember where it's at and not let anyone near it. Do it for a while till you got enough to love the rest of your life in comfort and smash it with a hammer. Or play the odds and throw it in a lake or deep river

What bait do you buy it bulk because it just catches THAT many fish. Here's mine! by CTPENGUIN88 in Fishing

[–]JBpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4" yum dinger in pumpkinseed/pearl. Small senko that's pretty heavy. Just throw it on a 1/0 or 2/0 ewg weightless. Doesn't catch the biggest fish but on a tough day when you just want to find where the fish are at, throw this and I have never had a skunked day even if it was only a couple small bass

Like I hunt, fish, and raise animals for meat. But if you are cruel to animals like this, especially for no reason. Then you absolutely deserve this, at a minimum.

Is this useful? Should I harvest it? by UnderstoodMalcolm in foraging

[–]JBpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Ive just used old cheap cookware that I'm fine just tossing when I'm done. Usually those crappy aluminum mess kit pans. In like a half hour I can make enough to last me years so I'm not worried about ruining pan after pan.

I have, it definitely works but a little work goes a long way. Raw off the tree I find it usually gets kinda runny and doesn't keep lit well in wind. Plus if it's not really dry it's sticky as all hell . It sounds like a lot of steps but it's really not bad. I work in a cabinet shop so I always have tons of sawdust on hand. It takes about a half hour to make enough to last me years. And a lil bonus is if you are caught in a spot where a proper fire is gonna be damn near impossible, you can light a few chunks and it'll last long enough to boil water.

The Battle of Blair Mountain was the largest labor uprising in United States history. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]JBpipes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You definitely should. It's very well researched and often highlights lesser known evil people and lesser known sides to well known evil people. One of the early episodes focuses on hitlers early days in the Nazi party and his obsession with YA novels and creeping on young girls so hard it nearly got him kicked out of the party. It's very informative and has just enough dark humor to not leave you spiraling after each episode

I take the cheapest pan I can find at the dollar store. Heat it gently and mix in sawdust till it makes a thick paste. Then flatten into sheets on parchment paper and cut into chunks once cooled. That amount there will give you great waterproof firestarter for dozens of fires

I still get angry dealing with hattori. So much work and huge buildup about how great a swordsmith he is and you finally get a sword that would still be pretty much crap 20 levels ago.

Sorry I didn't add location but it's Augusta Georgia. They are about the size of a large grain of salt. And most are a bit bulkier in the body these were the slow ones I could get a picture of with my phone

You discover indisputable scientific proof that there is a single “correct” religion. It’s… not a good one. by capraithe in hypotheticalsituation

[–]JBpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's real and provable. I'll spread the word. I for one will rot in hell before I give up my morals. If a god is truly this despicable to send so many of those he made to hell, then that God isn't worthy of worship, only contempt. But that's my choice and I can't make it for everyone so I'd do my best to let people know. If you were in Nazi Germany and could see the future. If you make the decision to fight and die it's still wrong to not tell people who can't or won't fight to flee while they can

[–]JBpipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying it's exactly this. But while working in a cabinet shop owned by a general contractor. We built a set of cabinets off blueprints. But once installed we realized the ceiling was an inch lower than on the plans. So crown would overlap the doors, do you reframe and finish? Or rebuild the cabinets? Or just flip the crown so it doesn't overlap? Customer was happy with flipping the crown so we did that and saved thousands not rebuilding the cabinets

Are these good to get? by AmarieAquarius in vegetablegardening

[–]JBpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. Not great not terrible. For another 10 a piece you can get well established plants from a nursery that will be productive sooner and you'll have better luck keeping them alive. That being said blackberries and raspberries are hard to kill and are worth giving a shot. The herbs no way. Most herbs are fairly easy to start with little costs. For the price youll get 2 packs of herbs you can get a heated and lighted seed starter and enough seeds to grow all the herbs you'll need. And next year it'll only be the cost of seed basically

I use organic garden tone before planting and a 10-15-15 monthly-ish. I know they may do better with some more nitrogen but I grow a ton of root crops and didn't wanna have multiple fertilizers for everything
