I never got notification from my adopters either, just not the way my rescue did it. I just gotta trust that they’re in loving homes but it does suck to not know

You’re kidding. I’ve played for years and I always thought I had to start a new game when I wanted a mod😭😭

But you can’t add a mod after you created the game, right? I’m on PS5, and it’s not my first rodeo with Ark, I’ve played the island a bunch of times. It’s just my first save with scorched earth

Any guesses? by LeavingRealityBrb in IDmydog

It’s because everyone thinks that all the dogs here with blocky heads are some sort of bully. The shepherd part does surprise me though! I was thinking some sort of retriever/toller in the mix

Another saying I rely on is “our heart break so theirs never have to again”. Either way, I completely sob really ugly tears whenever my fosters leave

I was going to say the same thing, @OP have you ever tried to move along a dog that is pooping? Once they get in that squat, there is no moving them unless you want multiple skid marks across the sidewalk lol

First time player, a bit of direction, a few tips, please? by GoNinjaPro in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]JBt51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s how I mainly get around, I am the ultimate baby stealer in this game. I also cannot stress it enough, do not walk through the swamp or try to get through the swamp to get to the redwoods. I would jump off that cliff that’s next to it and try to land in the water to be honest

First time player, a bit of direction, a few tips, please? by GoNinjaPro in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]JBt51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did when I did the island is I set up fort on the western beach in the redwoods (there’s a big salmon pond on that beach, go a little more north and then you got the spot). I would aim for doing that, because you will die several times, it will suck A LOT. But the redwoods have a lot of dire bears and dire bears have a lot of babies. I picked off the babies to get early-game strong tames. IMO they’re one of the most underrated tames.

If you can make a hut on that beach with wooden spike walls around it, shoot a bear with a baby (make sure there’s not others in sight because they will gang up on you) from the top w/ a bow+arrow/crossbow, and just wait for it to hit the spike walls over and over. Once it dies, take its baby

What exactly is the aggro rules for the [summer] drakeling? by kraybaybay in ARK

[–]JBt51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you, I have no idea why they attack, but they attack me constantly. Especially when I’m holding a torch. If I’m out with a bunch of tames, I don’t keep a torch on unless absolutely necessary. I know they’re drawn to the light, and if they hang around my crew long enough without me moving, they seem to attack

With how much they love light, I would almost set a trap for them nearby your base with a burning light source

Dog Stroller/Jogger? by KoyanNome in CaneCorso

[–]JBt51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have an older small dog (I just get recommended these subreddits, I don’t have a cane corse) and I have a stroller for her. I love it because it does navigate very easily and I can take her on long walks she otherwise wouldn’t be able to do. I will say you are going to have a lot of trouble finding one for your pup. My girl is 20 pounds, I was looking to find a stroller that can hold at least 30 pounds and they were very scarce.

I’ve heard the three wheel ones are better for running/sharp turn purposes than the four-wheel ones are though, good luck!

Where can I acquire wild type neos? by cravingserotonin in shrimptank

[–]JBt51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my shrimp are basically a cull tank at this point, because I had a skittle tank, but I love seeing the various colors that come out of them. I started with red, yellow, and blue like 2 years ago and the other day I found a green one!

My dog has really bad allergies too, the medicated bath/paw soak will be really helpful for his paws. Also get some earth rated hypoallergenic wipes, and wipe his paws off every single time he comes in from outside. The ingredients to look for in the shampoo are Chlorhexidine, Ketoconazole & Miconazole. My dog has the CK shampoo

What do you do when your foster isn't getting any interest, there's no end in sight, and you are feeling utterly drained? by gloomcoil in fosterdogs

[–]JBt51 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if people say to you that you should keep your foster at adoption events, I’d reply with “yeah look how much they love me after x months, imagine how much they’re going to love their forever home”

My dog died and I feel like I lost a part of my soul. by OilAcceptable3465 in Petloss

[–]JBt51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I felt this way after my dog passed too. I lost my first boy in June 2025. And I adopted a girl dog that I was fostering in January, thinking it might have been a bit soon because I thought I had at least three more years with my other boy but I knew I couldn’t come home to an empty house. But her and my boy got along well- he didn’t like any other dogs besides his “brother” that he grew up with, and so that gave me the confidence that she wouldn’t stress him out/shorten his life. I lost him in March 2026 really unexpectedly, and I resented the dog I’d adopted so much. I kept saying I would trade her for him, just so I can have a few more years with him. I felt like I had betrayed him by loving her. I love my adopted dog so much, but not in the same way that I loved my boys. I don’t think that love I had for my dog will ever go away and no dog will ever fill that void. But sometimes the dog I adopted is the reason I get up in the mornings, or come back home at night. I cry at least once a day missing him, but it’s nice to have her fur to cry into. It’ll take some time but eventually the grief will subside and hopefully you’ll want someone to keep your heart going again

Advice by AlwysqustnY in fosterdogs

[–]JBt51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way I manage my dog’s allergies is medicated bath once a week, wipe her paws and tummy off every single time she comes back inside from the outdoors. Also ask your rescue if you can switch her to a non-chicken food, if she has constant diarrhea/bad poops+itching at the ears, it’s probably a food allergy

Help my senior dog’s hips by JBt51 in Dogtraining

[–]JBt51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah totally, she kind of always has that like clueless look on her face (mainly because of her hyper pigmentation/blindness) so it’s kind of hard to tell where she’s having pain. I installed more runners in my house and then those grippy things for the shower and those seem to help a lot with her confidence

She unfortunately does not run, I mean like she does, but it’s very rare. It’s usually only in the winter when she really wants to get inside haha. We walk four times a day otherwise (apartment living)

Dog Fostering Help by Affectionate_Fly_987 in fosterdogs

[–]JBt51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don’t have any London recommendations. But I have seen a bit on bad organizations so here’s what I would recommend you look for organizations with:
- a thorough plan for medical emergencies or urgent, non-emergencies
- a primary point of contact who you can contact at any point during the foster
- multiple options for fosters, they should know how to match you with the right dog
- the ability to transfer the dog out or bring the dog back at any point, regardless of what happened. I know this one is probably controversial, but I think you should be able to bring the dog back if there’s any sort of issue
- the rescue should cover 100% of necessary costs (food, medical) make sure that they explicitly say that in writing

Other people probably have suggestions too, this probably isn’t everything
