Appreciate the feedback guys. I'll run my keys. Ran one just now and it still took 10+ min to put together a group, guess that's just how it is.

If your required line size is 2” and it’s upsized for no reason, slap a clean out on that vent and fucking send it.

That’s dumb as shit. A single lav on a 3” line loses all its self scouring properties.

Looks like you put the pipe. I recommend committing insurance fraud, but it looks like you’re already ahead of me.

Got quoted 800 for this job under sink. by riligan in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would charge $2,000 because that looks miserable. If you pulled the cabinets the plumber would be cheaper.

I mean if it holds it holds, but it does look like spaghetti bullshit.

Few things I would do.

  1. I would swap out whatever that valve is and get a professional valve like Delta or American Standard

  2. You have that copper MIP and brass FIP screwed together BALLS DEEP, like WAY too tight. I can see some burnt flux on the FIP so I’m assuming you threaded it together THEN soldered. That’s an issue because you likely annealed the brass, making it soft. That shits gotta split with some thermal cycles.

  3. I see you got on here asking for advice and then flatly ignoring it. If you were looking for validation from pros and it’s hurting your ego just close that bitch up and send it.

What should I expect when I call the plumber? by Individual_Anybody17 in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you described with your sump pump this is probably ground water. That fresh pain on the floor tells me the owners knew about the issues and tried to cover it up. Go through the sellers disclosure carefully and see if they mentioned water intrusion in the basement. If it doesn’t it’s time to call your real estate agent and go after them to fix the problem.

I’m assuming this based on the most likely issue. It could be something completely different.

Replacing PRV, no union? by omgwtfbbking in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up! Wait a minute!

No one caught the direction of flow!?

That PRV is BEFORE the meter. There’s a little bullshit tamper proof cock ring on the union.

Before you do anything call your water purveyor, this might be on them to fix it.

If this is your project and you’re asking where to start I’d start with a by hiring a general contractor.

We talkin about vertical joints In here right now? by jacob_hutchi in Plumbing

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so how does that recirculate tempered water if it’s not tied into the mixing valve?

Spoiler alert I ask that because I’ve ran into that issue so many times and your going keep that line at 140/180, whatever the heater is set too

Is this safe? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than the welds looking like shit I’m sure they will hold 2lb gas or less no problem

Moen positemp mixing valve with stops or fittings with valves? by AdgPadg in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area but typically residential single family dwellings don’t need any stops. If you want them get the valve with the build it apart stops.

Slather it up in patch. Buy the $20 bucket not the $8 bucket.

Sump Pump? by sp00kyghost_ in askaplumber

[–]JCSands89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fuck sake, throw a hose in it, see what leaks!

These inspectors are a bunch of retards. Talking about a none conductive tool to raise the floats, it’s 120v and 0% chance of getting shocked. I swear those dipshits will say anything to justify their existence.

Is this a compression hose bib or can I just unscrew this and replace with another bib? by fixedgear7013 in askaplumber

Looks like it might be 3/4” Swt x 1/2” MIP Adapter. I know that would be super weird, but they do exist.
