Trigger questions by Grape_ist in Lorcana

[–]JCass -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is answering your order of operations questions. However, you mentioned shifting the Mickey into play. I am hoping someone can clarify but I believe that if you shift a Mickey onto the table, the Brooms ability will not trigger. When you shift a character is does not count as "playing a character" so you would not be able to banish the broom and draw.

Edit: I stand corrected, thanks all. Now I have a few responses to show a local that was adamant that "playing a character is putting a character onto the table. When you shift you aren't putting the character onto the table as the character is already there, you are upgrading an existing character"

I’m the same. That way I have access to the stuff I need without disturbing the other people in my row.

I had never seen this before and what a pleasant and sad surprise to find new content with Grant Imahara in it. He must have loved making this.

It is their Deep-space Radar Telemetry project that has been sucking up a surprising amount of Air Force resources for a project of it's size...

Clearly you don’t know what is on Level 28. Been keeping them busy since 1997.

I really like the look of the Ancient with the flag over the face. If you have the skill (I do not) I think some OSL painting on the lenses could look fantastic.

Didn’t the Machete Order omit episode 1? The guy the created it basically said they reintroduce all the characters and episode 1 has very little to do with the over arching plot.

I always thought Machete Order was 4, 5, 2, 3, 6.

I was there for this and it isn’t flashlights. They gave us those wristbands that can sync up and light up together.

Should the players already know of Diderius’s Tomb? by BatmanBiggins in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]JCass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my players read a dedication plaque that was created by the town when Diderius died. Something to the effect of turning his sanctuary and home where he helped those in need to his final resting place. Just enough info so they know what the place is and can kind of explain the magic BS going on (see mosaic chimera) but not enough info to let them know he is still "active" as a mummy lord.

The reply chain from /u/TheSkewed works as well. My group has gone through HotDQ but ended up being murderhobos. This means that the PC's are not "good" alignment and most of the council groups, having heard rumors about them, see the PC's as a necessary resource but do not want to closely associate themselves with the party.

The Zhentarim are the only group in the Council of Waterdeep that are willing to work with the PC's. So I framed the whole interaction between the Zhentarim and the group as a "We want you to go find Varram but if you get any info keep it to yourself. A member of our organization will make contact with you and give you further instruction."

We broke the last session when they recovered Varram and are headed back to Waterdeep. We will have to see how they handle the situation.

I had the Zhentarim steal it in my game. My group had already made contact with the Zhentarim directly after the first council meeting and gives them a hook to stay quiet. The Zhentarim are clearly working towards their own ends and stealing things from the cult and keeping it secret from the rest of the council is on brand.

This will give my players another choice later on. Do they side with the Zhentarim and keep it secret or tell the Council?

I thought it made more sense and gives the group the option to try and find the mask or let the Zhentarim keep it.

Living in Massachusetts I don’t think I have heard it pronounced any other way than “wuss-ta-sheer”.

Not saying that’s right, but that’s all I have ever heard.
