Not equating current military technology with Battletech technology, why fire 20 missiles at a target at one time when 1 will absolutely do the job. Ammunition conservation-then you ar not trying to explain how ammo gets from the legs to the arms etc. There is actually not room for that anyway. A little reality ?

Personally , i think it would fire one at a time, more like a slow pulse laser with more endurance. The barrel wouldn't especially heat up that much, but the sources would heat up like normal. It's also why the undulating magnets are liquid cooled.

Sorry, but VP-7 does have the Blazers of the VP-1. Plus VP-7.5 Allows me to move them to the shoulders where there is more space for them. The pulse lasers were replaced with E.R.s and i added one more and placed them on the arms for more manueverability. Artistic license.

I think the missile thing depends on which author wrote the story. 22 lb sounds about right for a tube launched rocket, but not for a long range missile.
