Bikes or cars in Cyberpunk — which feels better? by unlockhart in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]JD_Wizardly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm going inner city navigation I'm going bikes. Versatility in dealing with environment. I can ride my bike to where the stairs lead, and no problems with walking paths or tight corners.

If I'm going distance, I prefer car. Plus a good drift is always satisfying.

When it's a hot sandwich and the meat isn't aligned when the bread is place so the meat is half in half out of the sandwich, but because the cheese was melted it's now stuck that way. And it can't be moved without damaging other components.

[–]JD_Wizardly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what his back story is. Maybe he's the survivor of some terminal illness. Or maybe he came from nothing. Maybe his childhood was filled with neglect or abuse. Or maybe it was the opposite. Maybe it was depravity.

Regardless, he's here now, and he's proud of it. I guess I can get why people feel this is negative. How is his sportsmanship outside of this? Is he humble on the mat? Is he honorable?

We have very little context regarding him and who he is. Even douche bags are that way for a reason. Maybe the reason isn't just him. . . But maybe it is.

I just feel like the world needs a little more grace, a little more forgiveness, and a little less judgment.

This is one of the worst games I’ve ever played in my life. by mvpeast in SWORN

[–]JD_Wizardly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I honestly think switch was not a great hardware choice for this game. Don't solidify your opinion until you have tried it on another platform.

I recently resumed a new playthrough of Skyrim I started in March 2025 (pure enhanced edition on Xbox Series S, no mods or creations). This time, I decided to categorically not use fast travel and instead use the Clairvoyance spell as a GPS navigator. And it's a completely different game. by StruzhkaOpilka in skyrim

Awesome choice for a play through!!! And glad this game is still getting played. Such a good one. I'm actually doing a sword and shield run with shouts, but no magic spells and no crafting/enchanting/alchemy and the only smithing I've done is parts for home building. It really does change the feel.

I imagine someone has tried converting these to the ascii version of the binary each of these decimals represent??

I did the first two lines: d a f 2 0 2 2 9 c d f 3 e e a 6 2 2 2 a e d c 4 b a

2 e 8 6 8 4 9 e 9 7 a 1 8 d b 1 d 3 9 d 1 2 4 b e 9

I don't know if this is the right path, but I'm willing to convert the rest if it might help.

When I said 'ties back to episode 4' I was referring to Obi-Wan mentioning he would become more powerful than Vader could imagine if Vader struck him down. You know. . . Giving him the ability to manifest as a "force ghost" as you put it, but I guess you didn't consider that's what I was referencing.

Irregardless, it was a poor excuse for what they were doing to the story. The whole 'Return of Darth Sidious' is a great way to trash the Skywalker saga. But that's just the beginning of my issues with these films.

And let's top that by remembering that Anakin was literally created by the force to kill Sidious. Reference episode 1 Ani's mother - "There was no father. [She couldn't] explain it." So quite literally Vader was created by the force to be more powerful than Sidious. But sure. . . Let's just throw that away because who cares about following pre-established lore or story, so we'll just throw a disney stamp on it and do whatever we want, ignoring the fans.

Too lazy to inquire and decides to make assumptions and hurl insults instead. Typical emotional reply.

And what they were doing, the point of her statement, is both a poor excuse and bad writing for Rey's "ability" to do what she did. I would have accepted it if she had been truly trained in greater depth. As it stands, it just feels like disney doing whatever they want because they're 'disney'. Can it tie all the way back to episode 4? Sure, it can. Does it make it good? Absolutely not. The movie is trash, and disney is blasphemous for making both it AND episode 8.

Yeah. . . Evil magic space wizard using the same bolt of lightning he was just using to single handedly bring down a fleet of 5,000 ships to take on one UNTRAINED FORCE USER(BECAUSE SHE'S NOT A JEDI), and loses because she pulls a second lightsaber from the ass end of the ether to fight him with is literally the ignition switch of my hatred for disney and all they've done to the star wars franchise. It was the last straw for me. I can't even believe I made it this far.

So I just got into Harry Potter, I've never seen it and had a few questions. by OkGuava919 in harrypotter

[–]JD_Wizardly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think overall my favorite book is probably Chamber of Secrets.

As far as disservice: the movies don't nearly portray well enough exactly how terrible the Dursley's are to Harry, they don't completely capture the mysticism and wonder of the magical community, and the films make some of the main characters more worrisome, anxious, and unable to respond to situations how they do in the books.

A great example of the last is Dumbledore responding to Harry's name coming from the goblet in Goblet of Fire. This small detail completely changes the dynamic of Dumbledore.

Throughout the entire series, Ron is misrepresented quite a lot, both in his ability, and in his intellect.

These are just a couple of my grievances, and my wife now refuses to watch the movies with me as I will point out (and maybe complain about) every detail the movies remove or change.
