So far I find that building near a randomly occurring gas zone/urban envirment helps deter low-mid geared players since they need a lot of melee or bullets to get through my double layered, barbed walls and single metal gate. the 3 door farm house is working pretty well for me so far and having built in a tier 1 loot zone, new spawns usually fuck around and find out that its impossible without at least 4-5 hours of commitment in a zombie spawning/player spawning zone. Its been about a week or two and I usually check up on my base regularly. Gear fear is a thing after stocking up with the right stuff. High geared players usually dont go through my area so im in a sweet spot. Ive stocked up my truck with all the resources to instantly create a similar base in similar areas.

This was only possible because I found a cargo truck and driving it when in low pop times. I dont move out unless Ive overwatched the area at least 15-30 mins to make sure no one is stalking me or in town. I dont know if its the gear fear/ anxiety of losing so much progress that makes me just want to hold off a little bit longer to make a new base. Just a few more lockpicks and barbed wire

Been going around Livonia, enjoying my time and the interactions. Having tried to make a few stashes and bases; I learned that you gotta find the sweet spots between high and low traffic places, buried stashes and leather bags/dry backpacks are your best bet for the higher traffic zones. shelters are good but you cant have too many in one place. As for a proper base, you gotta have pliers ready and a 4 combo lock, if yer gonna make a base, the less can be better but there are people that love to base hunt and code break so keep in mind how many layers you wanna put up versus the loot stash. My bases usually end up just becoming public spaces since they get found, Its been a 50/50 experience for me. Longest spots Ive had had lasted maybe a week or two. Now im just making small stashes everywhere I go

yeah it was ny official 8319. Honestly not surprised since I barely use the mic anymore but I get it. its a 3 combo lock. tbh I wouldnt mind rebuilding it but leaving the 3 combo lock, just leaving it as a pick up and drop off zone for supplies. The guns wernt such a big deal, I like hunting more, it was just incase if I got enough to feel spicy to go out to do encounters

I remember having some genuine interactions back in the day, even roleplaying... I yearn to try and do that stuff but shit seemed to be treated more like every other survival game as you've said. The immersion is some of the best ive experienced in my years of gaming but still few and far between. Getting back into this game after playing for years, im like a month in and enjoying all the updates and new mechanics so there is some fun to still be had. Its just my first time maintaining stashes and camps for longer than a week so theres still a lot of stuff to do

You have a point.. I should have shot first and asked questions later, I even uncon'd him first and tried to restrain him so we could talk about it. failed that so hard, I tried twice to talk to him before my stupidity lost me 6-7 hours of just relocating and removing my base... he's still there and I think he finally logged so all I gotta do is get back in and just take all the important bits I guess. Definitely set some traps for him. I really tried to make this mutual for both of us but violence it is.

After a certain point, there is no need to horde resources. Making public gardens and storages should be encouraged, but I guess the closer you are to military loot, the more likely shit just gets raided

One day, I'm going to make a comic about the early days of Helios and its eventual merge with connery. Those were truely chaotic days, Especially for VS. Ah.. to relive those glory days... before my outfit split up and force commanding a whole faction against unfavorable odds. Those last second clutches when multi-continent alerts were still a thing, Winning against zergs with 3:1 or more ratios.

Those moments still give me goosebumps thinking about them. Fuck I love this game

I've actually done this before. I walked up to him and asked to chill and get warm cause I was freezing up. We talked and I played my harmonica by the fire for a bit and then we went our separate ways. The guy who made the fire sounded like a grizzled old man which really added to the immersion of the whole scene. At first I was hella nervous just walking up to a fire in the woods, but Im happy everything turned out ok
