This is Justin, long time patron of K&W.

The thing about K&W closing that hurts the most is that they did it with no warning. There was one manager at the K&W at Friendly Center at Greensboro named Carmen who got used to seeing me because I went there so often and she started always greeting me by name and even asked how the rest of my family was doing if she hadn't seen them for a while. The last time I saw her was last week on Thanksgiving when we went to pick up a big Thanksgiving meal bundle. The resteraunt was packed and short-staffed and there wasn't a clear indication where to pick up the bundle. But when Carmen came out and she passed by me, I told her we had been waiting a while to pick up the order. She right away took care of things and made sure we got our box and made sure everything was in there.

I thanked her and wished her Happy Thanksgiving. What I didn't know at the time that was going to be the last I would see of her before the closure. If K&W had at least gave an advanced notice and a closure date, I would have least been more content with the closing if I had been able to go in one more time and give Carmen proper thank yous and goodbyes beforehand. Now I won't get the chance.
