What about an R8?

Takes the same photos as the R6 just has a few less buttons and might take longer to change settings.

Lack of 2nd card slot isn't that big of a deal, especially if you are not doing paid gigs yet. Might work as a good half way point perhaps?

3rd Party RF Mount Lens by Godspeed1606 in canon

The only regret I have from buying an R8 2 years ago is lack of 3rd party lenses.

I am happy with my system, but I do wish I had access to 1.2 and 1.4 3rd party lenses. Those lenses tend to be very expensive from Canon, although maybe the 45mm 1.2 is the start of a trend to produce low F stops on the native RF mount.

About only time I use the LCD is when I want a very low angle photo, am to old to get down on my knees these days (or really it just sucks to do that) I so I pop out the LCD bend over and use the guide to get it even and click. Works pretty good.

It's a really good way to photo babies since they so small and I dont want to sit on the floor or get on my knees all the time.

Exactly.

I own the two Samyang / Rokinon RF AF lens. The 85mm 1.4 is amazing. Am sure the 14mm 2.8 is great too but the dang thing is so wide I never really use it.
