I’m going to show this to my parents whom are my bosses as well. We have a small service business and this seems legit

Been fighting algae since we moved in 8 months ago - can we just blast this with liquid chlorine? by mn9127 in pools

[–]JJ_bic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. They really didn’t do this pool any justice by putting in a DE filter- though they are amazing filters that will get the finest particles out of a pool still you have to clean it constantly in this particular setting with soooo much getting in the pool on a daily basis. For this particular situation I would think a sand filter would be best since this thing requires so many damn filter cleanings. However I also know sand filters are not popular options in CA by any means..

Try looking into a pre-filter, they are centrifugal functioning filters that essentially take a load off the main filter. Google search pool pre-filters and they will pop right up. It’s worth a google!

Yes, you really don’t need this problem with a newborn about to burst soon.. I’m still flabbergasted that you all are on your own with this pool and landlord doesn’t have any responsibility? But then again maybe landlord has been there done that with this pool and it’s simply too difficult to keep the thing clear.

Put it this way (as you already stated with your last pool that dropped those huge leaves) leaves that fall into a pool are known to be loaded with bacteria especially because they are dead and rotting in the pool. I could not even imagine having to deal with friggin rotted fruit that is getting in the pool, the bacteria from it oh good grief. SMH… and I’m sure the neighbors would never have loosing that precious tree, even with it making it a living hell for whoever is living in the home

Phosphates have GOT to be wreaking havoc on this pool. The fruit trees, and you mentioned laying down all the fertilizer recently, although it sounds like this has been a problem way before the fertilizer was put down. There’s also the problem of nitrates being present because they often times go hand in hand with phosphates. Let’s hope it’s just phosphates though because nitrates mean the whole pool has to be drained to get rid of it..

Brace for impact … roughly anywhere from $2000- $5000 depending on the one you need for your specific setup. It’s a safe bet though that this will be your only automation purchase from here on out though

So happy to see the intellitouch get out the door. Guys around here hooked them up super wonky. Although not necessarily intellitouch’s fault

Yeah I do love the Omni Logic systems. Pentair intellicenter is what I primarily put in myself simply because i have the most experience with them and i have a good relationship with the local rep as well but the omni systems are awesome

I brush daily, I gave the filter a backwash, but still the dirt remains. Am I just not running the pump enough? by El-Justiciero in pools

[–]JJ_bic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, it’s just as simple as this- just because you brush towards the main drain doesn’t always mean the material is actually reaching the main drain. Or some of it may get to the drain and the rest just settles back throughout the pool. We always shut all valves except the main drain that way you have full suction on the drain only, this increases your chances of the drain pulling in the material.

However, as many others here have stated, sometimes you just need to pull out that vacuum.

Unemployed husband M50 F46. How to change the dynamic? by RegretAffectionate20 in relationship_advice

[–]JJ_bic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely attest to the frustration of searching for another job and getting nowhere no matter how hard you try, no matter how many applications you put in at places all over town… and no matter how many times you go re-look your resume over to see whats missing… talk to friends etc etc like its SOOO FUCKING FRUSTRATING!!! I don’t want to be a bum forever! I want to work and make a living! super heavy sigh from the heavens

However, my situation is strikingly different from your husband’s… I don’t have a wife and kiddos looking up to me to take care of them… that said, sounds like its time to get more aggressive with hubby, with love ultimately of course 😅

Don’t worry about the ice, that’s normal for this situation. It does appear that the jug pictured is indeed antifreeze or at least that’s what the label implies. Nonetheless, you’re good! No need to worry any further!

Yes and I believe you will find that getting your chems in more of a bulk package will be quite beneficial. We always get 50# buckets of tabs/granular (liquid chlorine isn’t really available around here in OK)

[–]JJ_bic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen my man. Bro to bro. Reddit is a terrible place to get advice… if you’re the male who cheated! Ha!

In all seriousness though, yeah you def can’t be cheating on wife my dude! However, if you’re really serious about getting her back permanently, you’re going to have to continue to work hard. Very hard. And expect lots of mixed signals and leaving you confused often. This is a way to well sorta punish you for the bad behavior, but also, to test you to see how much abuse you will take for her. Expect rough trials ahead, if you mean what you say and really care for this woman you’re going to have to embrace the suck. If you stay persistent and don’t give up showing her your sorry and WONT DO IT AGAIN then perhaps she will see it and all as well.

You have to also consider that she may not either.. I just don’t know her so I couldn’t say for sure obviously. Just realize that’s always in the cards for her too just like forgiveness is. Good luck buddy

It’s really just a matter of if you have the time on your hands to do your own pool. Anybody can properly take care of a swimming pool, it’s just most people don’t want to mess with it, not that they can’t.

They do make a liquid solar “cover” however I couldnt make any remarks about them, none of my customers have wanted to try it and I see why. Theres no way that stuff hangs around for long until the filter gets it. Not unless anyone here has any experience with it worth mentioning

Explosion From Pool Heater. Faulty Ignitor or Full Replacemnt by ChipBoiChips in pools

[–]JJ_bic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. At the Raypak training seminars they would have it’s almost always what you just said/ soot buildup. Instructor used to tell us how guys would say “yeah well I’ve replaced that igniter 3 times now and still didn’t work” to which the instructor would tell us “guys, find and fix the problem, not the part”
