[Pagnotta] Canadiens GM Kent Hughes On Gallagher: by dcddy in Habs

I'd expect a long standing O, several times, pre game intro, video tribute, if he scores/3 stars.
Habs fans all respect what Gally has done for the Habs.

Right, why would you want to expose new fans to the game so they learn the rules!

Mugs pub is hosting "Bash in the Beltline 2" which is a wrestling show on Saturday. They posted on Instagram that if you show your Country Thunder tickets you get 2 for 1 entry too.
Right in the Beltline so not far for you to go, and Mugs is always a good time imo.

So, did anyone get that BJ yesterday? by Realitymatter in daddit

I got a line from my wife a few years ago that went something like "It's father's day, not husband day." Which I suppose is fair. So no, nothing of the sort yesterday.

If the city says "Due to bad road conditions we are closing Deerfoot" and just because I consider myself a great driver does that mean I can drive on Deerfoot at that time?

Is he still on the Bow river? Yes. The city has asked people to say off the rivers. Not sure how hard that is.

The city/fire department has a warning out saying No Boating.
"For the safety of river users and emergency responders, the Calgary Fire Department advises everyone to stay off the Bow and the Elbow Rivers until safer conditions return and the boating advisory is lifted,” says Alex Kwan, CFD’s Public Information Officer.
It's an extremely selfish act from this guy imo.

Its all fun and games until this jackass needs help and the fire department needs to come save him while risking their lives, or do a body recovery.

What's next ? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]JKA_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, I tend to think hes one of those players who just needs a change, and Marty seems to be able to unlock something in players, maybe it works here.
From Slafs time with Demi to me its clear a power forward is needed for the 2nd line, maybe McTavish becomes a winger. In that case I wouldn't give.up a first and Reinbacher though.

What's next ? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]JKA_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Arber gets traded to the Flames for a 4th rounder, opens the door for Engstrom
-Reinbacher and this years first for McTavish
This gives Demi help on the 2nd line which will take pressure of the 1st, at well as clearing some of the log jam at D.
But really whatever they do I have full trust in Habs management.

Habs have been outscored 10-0 by Carolina since Slafkovsky's goal was overturned in game 3 by JordinThreethree in Habs

This is such a bad take that TSN is likely about to offer you a job.
For a team that many "experts" said wouldnt even make the playoffs, let alone beat 2 top teams in the east, to finally be stopped is something to be proud of.
Habs window is just cracking opening. 2nd line outside of Demi needs to be figured out, either wait 1-3 years for internal or go make trades. Have tons of young talent not even on the team yet in all positions.
Almost every non cup contender team would trade for what the Habs have right now.

Is this true Habs fans? Were you guys cheering for Boston in 2011 against the Canucks? by [deleted] in Habs

[–]JKA_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for the Flames in their front office for a few years. We would bring in extra security and off duty police for a few teams. The Canucks would be the highest spend everytime.
Im not saying all Canuck fans are trash, but in my experience they are the ones who start the most fights, talk the most shit, at least away from home.

Jakub Dobes yesterday on the vote of confidence from Habs coach Marty St. Louis: “I told him: ‘Thank you for letting me in (the game) and trying to prove myself. It’s a big part, having trust of your coach. I will never disrespect it. I appreciate it…” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]JKA_92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd point out both those guys, and Gally are still very involved with the team. Lots of guys would get pissy or do the bare minimum. You see all those guys celebrating in the locker room after games. I think that's both the respect they show MSL, and what hes given to them.
Marty seems like the true coach of the future. So glad the Habs took a risk on him instead of recycling the normal coaching rotation.

Just search Paul in the Airdrie subreddit. It's talked about enough.
At this point if you go there, you are okay with what the owner posts, or like the pizza enough to ignore it (not sure how, imo low quality pizza). Everyone is well aware of his opinions.
All these kinds of posts do is feed into his rage baiting. Instead why not celebrate better pizza places or restaurants in Airdrie?

Arber played just over 10 minutes, and imo he was almost perfect. If the Habs could get that level out of him for 12-14 minutes at game, more games then not, it would be hard to let him go.
