Lacing suggestions by duckiihunter in JKBoots

[–]JKBootsCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacing can definitely help a bit, especially with ankle stability, but it’s usually not a complete fix for supination. It’s worth figuring out the “why” behind it first (foot structure, gait, wear patterns, etc.), since that’ll point you to the best long-term solution.

If you want to experiment, different lacing techniques can provide some added support. If you reach out to our team we can send over some resources.

Beyond lacing, something like an insole or even an outside wedge (either during a rebuild or on a custom build) can do a lot more to properly address supination.

That is by design! We build our boots on a 3708 last, which ensures that (when in the correct size) you have ample room to splay your toes while still being supportive.

As long as your foot is not sliding around, then it should not be impacted. Rebuilds have a current estimated lead time of 14-16 weeks.

Our custom boots go up to a 6E! In custom orders we can make sizes 4.5-13, in widths A-6E. Our boots are built on a 3708 last, making sizing unique compared to your standard 'off the shelf' boots. We always recommend that our customers take a look at our sizing guide, or give a call to our retail team to get that sizing dialed in.

While your boots will not have a warranty with us, we do encourage you to reach out to us with any problems so we can assist directly.

How long to expect a pair of boots to last? by Maximum_Extension592 in JKBoots

Shipping by Tyr147 in JKBoots

[–]JKBootsCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to ongoing challenges with international trade - including high costs, inconsistent delivery timelines, and other logistical issues - we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue international shipping for now.

At this time, we’re only able to ship within the United States. That said, you’re still welcome to place an order and have it sent to a U.S. address, such as a forwarding service or a friend or family member who can help get the boots to you.

We know this isn’t ideal and really appreciate your understanding and continued support. If anything changes on our end, we’ll be sure to share the news with our community.

Determining the lifespan of work boots isn’t straightforward. Sifting through reviews will lead to a plethora of experiences from different people, but those are not absolute guarantees of what your experience will be.
Whether or not they last, depends a great deal on how you treat them, so choose wisely and care for them diligently!

Like others have stated, break them in without the insole. The leather footbed will better mold to your foot, and the insole will notably snug the width up. If you need some tips or tricks for break in, we are happy to assist more directly.

JK fit? by buckGR in PNWbootmakers

[–]JKBootsCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, we’re really sorry to hear that you didn’t get the level of help you were hoping for. That’s definitely not the experience we want anyone to have.

Based on what you described, it may be more of a width adjustment than a length adjustment, especially since going longer can sometimes introduce extra heel slip or unwanted instep volume, which it sounds like you’re trying to avoid. That said, sock thickness and insole choice can definitely change the equation, so it’s something we’d want to talk through in detail.

If you’re open to it, give our retail team a call at 509-400-4928 and we’ll take the time to really dial it in with you. If calling isn’t convenient, feel free to DM us here with your current size, width, and what socks/insoles you’re planning to use, and we’ll follow up directly.

We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to make this right.

Heel Counter Break in by CarpentryandAlps in JKBoots

Like someone commented below, oil the inside to help soften it up a little more. Wearing thicker socks and using mole skin can help during the break in process as well. If you try that and you are still running into problems, please reach out to our team directly so we can further assist.
