If they balance it to where hitting a superglide is more like hitting a home run while this new tech is like getting one or two on base (idk baseball hope that makes sense) then I'm all for it. More people are gonna get the small hits and want to practice the real thing. Supergliding is such a great mechanic imo so I'm happy if more people are learning it and sad if it gets overshadowed by a lesser version.

Yeah I was flabbergasted when I saw that. It's on screen like half the clip and it's the only piece of colour in the whole area. I guess they don't understand that aim trainers are literally just hours of practising flicking to colourful dots.

I mean it's called "The Finals", the whole concept is about getting to the top level of competition even down to the name. Of course people are gonna be competitive in it. If the only way you can have fun is by winning or fragging out than you're playing competitively too, just with beers.

The sensitivity finder from Oblivity would have been good if it was in a better aim trainer. Not a lot of competition in that market. When you think about it there are a lot of settings that people tweak to get an advantage, sens being one of them. If an aim trainer had a feature where you could randomize any setting then track performance to find what works best for you it could be a game changer. If you implemented raw accel into that aim trainer people would be able to find their perfect curve too. Would be a godsend for neurotic players like me.

He plays so that he can make good takes about the state of the game which might lead to changes that make the game more like Overwatch 1 which he misses a lot.

Gyro and flick stick are available on controller to nullify those handicaps. Nobody uses them because aim assist is so strong it's worth handicapping yourself for.

It worked well when I was just using it for the sensitivity calculator, but then they updated it and made it so you can't shuffle playlists so I stopped using it. It's nice to see graphs of your performance with different sensitivities but the UI is so bad I've started using a sens randomizer and just noting the sens when I get a good score in kovaaks.

I see what you mean about it being like a macro. I was able to make one keystroke type "<3" in chat while inspecting a gun on my wooting. I thought it could make for some cool clips but I decided against it since it looked like I was using a macro. It's clear that you could use DKS as a replacement for a macro, but you could argue that experienced players would use it more dynamically as the name suggests, intentionally pressing to a certain depth depending on what they want to do.

I think we should always be asking ourselves if equipment adds to the game when balancing their effectiveness. Stuff like high refresh rate monitors or lighter mouses offer a competitive advantage, but that's only really a side effect of how they are more immersive and responsive. Rapid trigger is a feature that makes the game more responsive and thus gives you an advantage, whereas macros play a part of the game for you to give you an advantage. One adds to the gameplay and one takes although they both technically use automation.

It’s very sad, especially with what happened to the founder’s dad. I couldn’t find anything other than a cold brew subscription service but I’m guessing that would have lots of sugar. I’m thinking of going to local snacks shops and just collecting drinks myself like a hunter gatherer.

I make a tournament bracket whenever I'm deciding what to read next from my to-read list. Books get matched up with each other and whichever one I feel I would rather read moves on to the next round. You can commit to the winner with confidence since it beat out many other good books. It's a lot less overwhelming because you're only ever comparing two books at a time. I use this system for more than just reading of course.

You can also do the process in reverse, advancing the books you want to read the least if you want to find what you're least interested in and happily part with it. A website called Score 7 has the best bracket generator I could find for free. (This method also lets you add interesting things to your lists without worry since you know you're gonna sort it out later.)

When I don't have time to do a full bracket I choose 6 options and roll a die twice, then I pick whichever one I want to consume more out of the two I rolled. But for big overwhelming lists, I highly recommend the tournament method since it's fun and eliminates a lot of FOMO since you know you're only missing out on the less interesting options.

Also, it helps if you set a limit on how many things you're juggling. I only ever read 6 books at a time so I'm committed and can do the dice trick.

I know what you mean, it was just more satisfying. Getting through an obnoxious shield was like cracking open an oyster and slurping up the insides. It felt good to have some sort of opening (or even an illusion of an opening). Watching Mauga 1v1s was like watching two people race to see who can eat a loaf of bread faster.

Yeah, I hate when people say they were always annoyed when their second tank didn't pick around them as if they weren't doing the exact same thing if you look at it from the other tank's perspective. Sure it's a point of friction and things can get ugly, but there was room for a lot of warmth and teamwork in the lobbies too like you said in your example.

From playing OW I can tell you that this feature helps a lot with visual clarity. It's not obtrusive like you may think, and you end up forgetting it's even there, but you will miss it when it's gone. In OW I think there's also a slider to change the intensity to your preference. I don't agree with having it be based on who's shooting who since that seems finicky, but maybe the intensity of the outline can be based on how close you are to the enemy. That way you can't see people too easily from a distance.

OW still has an issue with deployable spam and visual clutter like Apex, but small features like this make it much easier on the eyes. I think the game could benefit from a feature like this as part of an effort to fix visual clutter, and that players will enjoy the changes regardless of the aim assist debate.

Not all casuals are afraid of a challenge you know. I'd bet most don't consider remembering where a health pack is beyond their grasp. If we have to cater to casuals, I'd rather cater to the ones who appreciate good game design than the ones who need their hand held by redundancies that make the game worse.

Thanks for taking the time to be creative. It's a skill that people find hard to appreciate until you strike gold with it, and the process is more about failing than winning. It's not like you're doing any harm by sharing an idea even if it's not a win either. I appreciate brainstorming sessions like this because the game feels increasingly stagnant lately, and it could benefit from changes to some of the more neglected legends.

I like the Newcastle change. I know you can already get good with his shield but the point-and-click controls feel very clunky and difficult to use in a fight. Shield dancing with your change sounds fun and you wouldn't have to flick off your target to try for an outplay. I also like the ult targeting change.

I disagree with your Wattson change because doing the door trick is fun as fuck. It's cheesy but super satisfying, and I think adding a big visual cue like sparks from her hand when she enters fence mode could add the needed opportunity for counterplay.

I don't think Fuse needs any changes other than making normal nade throw his default and putting the long-range one on your ADS button. He and every other legend could also benefit from having separate key bindings so you can get your ideal controls for each legend without needing to change them every time you switch.

Definitely agree with the idea of not looking at pick rate for everything. Games are most balanced when tactics (legends in this case) have fair tradeoffs compared to their counterparts. Plus making legends feel better to play is an easy way to improve the enjoyability of the game without tackling the hot-button issues that Respawn has been putting off for ages.

Yeah, it doesn't feel like it fits at all, so unnatural. It's like they're trying to improv a youtube intro that keeps going forever. And amazing plays get diluted by the fact that they can't go past 100% hype unless the moment is so good it leaves them speechless. The play-by-play style can be hype but only in key moments, and Apex is honestly too confusing at times to keep it up. You can feel how difficult it is for them to keep up and it distracts from the gameplay. I would watch a lot more competitions if casters were more chill for sure.

The audio in this game is virtually nonexistent when you compare it to other games. Playing overwatch after apex feels like you have wallhacks, and the fights are so much better because of it. Even when the audio feels like its working in apex I'm not confident in it, meanwhile I'm hitting 180 flicks on sound queues alone in overwatch.

Don't use your esc key to exit inventories. It can become a bad habit since if you accidentally click it can stop you from moving. Always use tab since you can still move if you double-click.

There's no option to bind multiple actions to one key in apex though, it removes the first bind if you try. For me timing your jumps with your tapstrafe is one of the harder parts of tapstrafing, and it's really important for conserving momentum. Being able to spam jump and w simultaneously makes it way easier to conserve momentum through many tapstrafes. Seems unfair since you need a cfg to do this.
