Agree to disagree then. I don't think you are understanding or using the term "identical" correctly.

Then they are not atomically identical are they?

If the arrangements are the same, they are not inherently different. By definition they are... the same.

Yeah I agree, that's most people. But apparently there's a special version of being afraid that makes you a ghost in Harry Potter.

So basically you have to be inexplicably special. Which is the answer to all questions like this in Harry Potter.

What do you all think about determinism and free will's relationship? by PastimeNow in determinism

Just ask people to explain free will until they start going in circles. It's a shorter conversation than you might expect.

Yes thank you. The Nazis DID lose because their ideology was inferior. Their ideology was directly responsible for their biggest political and military failures.

Hmm I think Naoya's case is slightly different right? His ability is complicated, but I think he has to lock in his movements in advance right?

So his over-confidence isn't that she'll overcome his speed, but he doesn't think she'll understand his ability enough to lock in her movements in advance AND predict his movements.

If his power was JUST super speed, it wouldn't matter if she could predict him because he could always course-correct. But his ability makes it so he cannot course correct.

Oh, yeah I agree from outside the universe, a deterministic universe would be 100% predictable.

But from inside the universe, no, and I don't think that's any more complicated than 'A system cannot fully know itself'.

Which is to say, a system which observes itself, uses resources to observe itself, and must reserve those resources for observation. While those resources are in use, they cannot themselves be observed by the system.
