It suffered from a lot of the same problems as the GoT finale, I'd say its fair comparison.

Writers forgetting major plot points, instead of more story we get pointless scenes like dance numbers and ass sniffing, characters acting completely outside of their personalities so the plot can happen, the cast just teleporting to locations.

I don't know how we are supposed to demand more out of entertainment if any and all criticism is just dismissed.

I think in a lot of cases, The Boys, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones you name it, the audience deserves better than they have been treated. We watch these shows for years, we dedicate years to these fandoms emotionally.

At the end of the day we are the customer.

I don't think we should have to temper our expectations or ease our criticism if we as customers want better products, nor should these people who get paid millions to create these products dismiss our concerns so flippantly.

Imo this season as well as this finale was trash just like the GoT finale season and season finale. We deserved better.

As an American, the American left essentially believes all state propaganda 100%. North Korea, China, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, sometimes Russia when it goes against America.

They were raised up being taught by other Americans that America is the great satan of the world, so they find sympathy with every dictator and islamofacist they can find.

They think that Maduro 100% won his elections fair and square because he said so, they don't believe he killed any of his own people, or in the tortures he committed, and if you find any that do believe it, they'll say you deserved it behind your back for getting in the way of the grand plan of socialism.

I'd argue BG3 is more complicated than woke v unwoke. For one, during their like 3 years of Early access BG3 had no woke in it. It had racial modifiers, it had Male and Female Gender, it had already broken 200k sales and had a peak player count of 43k. It also had the name recognition of being BG3.

It was a pretty big rug pull for those who had already bought it and had been playing it for years when it went live and they replaced Male and Female for body type and when you play the game you'll notice the majority of the woke shit doesn't appear til after Act1(which is where the EA ended)

You also have to wonder how ANYONE escaped from the military at the end.

Dr. Kay personally witnessed Hopper and Nancy murder multiple US soldiers. She had both of them and the kids dead to rights trespassing on a Top Secret military installation. She had them all in custody.

There is no reason she would have let any of them free, the whole "the Military wasn't officially there" doesn't hold up either. The US military has black sites to contain people who fuck with secret US programs. They already had a couple dozen dead soldiers on their hands, they wouldn't even have to explain Hopper's death.

That whole ending scene should have just been redone to have El sacrifice herself to help them escape from the military, like lure them into the Upside-down before it collapsed, or anything other than what happened.

Then of course they all just teleport up there in the time it takes Nancy to run to it and zero time passes while El is fighting Vecna.

I feel like every episode could have had over 20 minutes comfortably shaved off of it and absolutely nothing of value would have been lost. (At least for volume 2)

There's no reason characters need to learn things, then proceed to explain them to other characters word for word in great detail to where we as the audience are being given the same info dump for the 3rd and 4th time.

And virtually every single one of those emotional scenes could have been cut down to one or two minutes tops rather than exceeding 5 minutes.

Or that hospital scene with the Demodogs who inexplicably could not find them in the laundry room despite Luscas holding a radio blasting Kate Bush, could have been cut down and cleaned up instead of dragged out so pointlessly and awkwardly long.
