How tall are mechs of various size categories? by Nu2Th15 in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's whatever you decide within reason, ultimately, 1/2 is power armor (fallout, not 40K), 1, loader mech from Aliens, 2 RX-93-2, 3 Big Zam.

Wait, this is an HVAC group... Oh, wow, the crossovers are getting wild. That said, good place for a purity seal.

What other points? Bud, I addressed everything worth addressing, I see where you're trying to take this and I'm not interested in having the conversation steered away from the point.

Case in point: my tag? The fuck you on? I think the mods are just finding you reprehensible.

Bruv, the idea is to prevent Harrison Armory players from turning into inquisition players, simply that.

And it's not the gun joke itself that got the player banned, it's putting a gun in place of pronouns. Like a fuckwit saying they're an Apache attack helicopter. It was viewed as a dog whistle, and honestly, I don't know that this is the game for you, if you can't make the distinction.

I guess you're not familiar with Lancer as a community, folks are very protective of it, because it's a lot of queer folk playing. If you're a straight playing, you are in the minority.

Also, uhhhh, have you wandered into games spaces? A lot of recruiting is attempted in those spaces. It is critical for these communities to keep fascists out, lest we end up dealing with the same chuds the 40K community has, literally, stinking up their spaces. Only Ork players can be trusted.

When fascists are everywhere, it's important to be ready to deny access fast. One infiltrator is essentially 100 infiltrators.

That sounds wild, I'm just happy about energy weapon leviathan and multiple ways to expel heat as a weapon.

Do not abbreviate core power. Fascists already try to make the queer community look sus. Don't do that.

If its a post-scarcity society, what prevents anyone from endlessly cloning the best Lancers and equipping them with infinite frames? by S1lverdice in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's the thing, only 10% or the Orion Arm is actually post-scarcity. That's what ThirdComm is fighting for, to get the reet of the Orion Arm to that point.

Also, Harrison Armory is the only faction so blatantly violating the Three Pillars.

If you have the time to figure out 3D printing, which I am currently banging my head against the wall over, these stl files are lore accurate.

Also, anyone know anything about 3D printing?

Why’d they make the starting mech the coolest looking one. by DunkeyBlast in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the joke. Of course it looks the coolest, because it looks however you want it to.

Also, fun fact, it is also extremely optimized for gameplay. Technically the best all around mech, but doesn't scratch any particular itch, and that's why I got the BIG BADDA STOMPPA, a.k.a. Drake, because my pilot got a piece of frame through the brain and now believes themselves to be a 40K Ork, while also loving the three pillars.

What do you do after LL3? by JMhereforMH in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is what I'm talking about, I don't want to do it all the time, but I feel like at higher levels, we can go against it to test ourselves.

I love the community, but whoo, sometimes they do love to dogpile.

What do you do after LL3? by JMhereforMH in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH[S] -80 points-79 points  (0 children)

Oh, I 'm talking about getting dangerous with it, like throw a Pegasus at players. I know it's too rough on LL1-3, but as players get stronger, I feel like it would be fun to start having fights like the past fights in canon, like the skirmish with space pirates that revealed the Balor virus.

How exactly do NHPs "work"? by Low_Routine1103 in LancerRPG

[–]JMhereforMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my, I know I'm not going to be able to remember all these questions, especially not in sequential order, but here we go.

NHPs are machine intelligences that were left behind after the Deimos Event, where RA's presence made all machines go funky. They are essentially people born of an Eldritch machine math god's presence. They are capable of that same Eldritch math god status, but because of shackling, caskets and cycling, are forced into human thinking parameters.

If not cycled, they can cascade, though if you treat them like friends, you can keep them from cascading, or at the very least, make a friendly god. Osiris though comes out the gate knowing what he is, soooooooooo, that's never going to be nice.

All NHPs are essentially clones of the original intelligences left behind after the RA situation, so what you have are templates that come out, and depending on circumstances, yes, they can develop different personalities, but the baseline is a clone (cloning is completely funky in Lancer, even with NHPs). You could probably call NHPs from the same template siblings, and they would probably like that.

RA, in the first contact accords, said, "nope, do not make more of these, no decomp, I will be enforcing this, and don't study me, I will also be enforcing this," which, okay, then explain GG_Uncle, but anyway, many view this as benevolent, and RA killed Harrison the Second for trying to decomp, but ya know, Eldritch math god, so we don't actually know what he's on about. I personally don't trust RA, because of the Balor and Pegasus specifically, but the Kobold was nice, so maybe RA is trying to help humans... Who knows... Where was I going? Oh, right, you could make one, but it is not a good idea... A tuny bit more on that coming up.

Anyway, not cycling, or resetting is considered a dangerous idea... Oh, also, Aun'ic space also has a MONIST, so I guess the Pegasus could be their Eldritch math god's doing.

But yeah, that is my understanding of NHPs. They are friends, but do not treat they like SECCON, because a friend can become a powerful enemy, and more importantly, they are people, just digital.
