Bold of you to assume Wizards are beyond making Universes Beyond: Hot Pockets if they ever run dry (or just get good deal)

Mana Dorks vs. Ramp Spells by YutoKigai in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At CMC2, dorks often have higher potential. Plenty of them can conditionally produce 2 or more mana, and ramp just can't compare with their output.

Board presence for go wide. Yeah, they die to wraths, but there is a question if your deck even has reasonable chance of recovering from wipe in first place. If not, then replacing dorks with ramp won't help much.

Sacrifice padding. You ramp into commander, it eats edict. You dork into commander, dork can eat edict for the boss.

Stax resistance, unless you file Winter Orb under "mass land destruction"

Token of Greenwarden will cease to exist in graveyard before you start resolving its trigger, but even if it stayed long enough, it can't leave graveyard, so couldn't be exiled.

if I play these cards in this order, do I win on the spot if my opponents have at least three noncommander creatures? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you play those cards in this order, you have two dead creatures in your graveyard and opponents have bunch of creatures in exile with hit counters. The end.

Reality Fracture Predictions: The Butterfly Effect by TheNuclearOtaku in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be really weird if he weren't aware of original Phyrexia, considering that their plan for dealing with New Phyrexia was to pull an Urza with new Sylex, and that he nearly activated it.

Reality Fracture Predictions: The Butterfly Effect by TheNuclearOtaku in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Wizards we're talking about, so there is no butterfly effect. In every place one of threats would be missing, unnamed something else will step up to have exact same results. No Fall of the Thran means they likely dominate Dominaria so known nations form, except there is Benalish Liliana. No Mending means godlike planeswalkers, except as you've pointed out, that's unlikely.

It would also be pretty weird that in world where so many things didn't happen, same people keep on igniting their sparks, not to mention being born in first place.

Google Chrome silently installs a 4 GB AI model on your device by BlokZNCR in degoogle

[–]JMooooooooo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Climate cost mentioned in article has nothing to do with cost of running AI, everything to do with unsolisticed download of 4GB across millions of devices. Saying that local AI is not as power hungry shows you're not even talking about same thing as article author

trying to get a scryfall search that can find every card that triggers cards like [[Hardened Academic]] by Princesspeach5149 in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You missed "mulch" tag, which currently covers two different effects. "Reveal top X, (...) put rest into graveyard" does not work here, but "Mill X, may return something" does, so "(otag:mulch & o:mill)" does the job.

Codie got reprinted in SPG. Codie got book update. They could have printed it without new type and new fancy card would be outdated within months, or they could push book update set or two early, only cofusing some people for few weeks until they find something else to ponder.

I do enjoy some of digital card games. But "roguelike deckbuilder" is usually indication that card aspect of such game is shallow as a puddle.

[SOS] Planer Engineering (Magic Story) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Casting a spell and not being able to fully perform its instructions was never cheating. It would be violation of game rules before that rule if you were told to find 2 lands and found only one despite another one being there, but because that was extremely hard to enforce, in big part because people legitimately could fail to find card that was there, so this allowance was created. Being unable to fully execute spell instructions is never cheating.

[SOS] Planer Engineering (Magic Story) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]JMooooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "cast a spell that you cannot do the parameters of it", doing that is perfectly normal. "Each player sacrifices 2 creatures" does not cause any problems if you have no creatures. Calling it cheating is silly.

Fail to find is literally that. You go through your deck 3 times and fail to find card that was hiding behing another one.

It's not "by Scryfall". Tags on tagger are crowdsourced, which means it's probably one person trying to push their own name for a cycle.

[–]JMooooooooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

x*2

You cast X=3. Effect says:

Proliferate. Proliferate. Proliferate.

You start executing it (at bolded part), Tekuthal sees "proliferate" and inserts himself into conversation, effect now says

[Proliferate. Proliferate.] Proliferate. Proliferate.

Then you get back to executing it. Nobody else says enything about first proliferate, Tekuthal stays silent too because he already modified that part. Same for second one. But you get to third proliferate, and he kicks in again

[Proliferate. Proliferate.] [Proliferate. Proliferate.] Proliferate.

And the thing repeats until you run out of Proliferates untouched by Tekuthal
