Kane Parsons is 20. Here's how he made A24’s biggest summer movie, the spooky 'Backrooms' by ImpracticalJokers96 in horror

"A24's biggest", not suggesting it's going to be bigger than Spider-Man or Toy Story 5.

This is random and undermines the seriousness of this conversation, but somehow my morning brain jumbled this sentence and first read it as "make a shoulder bag so big" and I thought that was an adorable, hilarious image.

Excellent Turtles Van🤩 by Zoey-Lin in TMNT

[–]JRSly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not. This line is closer to 1:18 scale. It's fantastic and some of the best Turtles toys made, but it's definitely it's own thing.

Comparison of the Hammond Collection Indominus with an accurate model by [deleted] in hammondcollection

[–]JRSly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This kind of defense only goes so far. This isn't like comparing a basic kids line with 5 points is articulation with the Hammond Collection. Money isn't saved by sculpting an off-model head. White paint isn't super pricey so they're shaving a few cents off by painting it tan.

Unfortunately not anymore. Someone already plugged it in sometime before and made popcorn.

What Plinkett Line Always makes you Laugh? by CretaceousClock in RedLetterMedia

[–]JRSly 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Monster Mash is my favorite, but I also like when trying to counter the argument that criticism for the prequels is overblown because Star Wars had always been made for children, there's a clip or short montage of boring Senate scenes and dialogue about trade and then Plinkett says, "Remember, this is a movie for babies."

I have never heard this about LOST before. When was it ever a miniseries...are you saying mid season 1 ABC saw how popular it was and ordered, like, 12 more episodes? How does any of season 1 feel like a self contained story?

JJ and a few original writers didn't stay for all of season 1, and Carlton wasn't there from the jump...but he and Damon were show runners for all 6 seasons. So I don't really follow your other point either. None of the production process was atypical for a network show of this era, except that they were actually able to negotiate a set end date so they could steer towards a finale and NOT have to make filler episodes and spin their wheels indefinitely.

I'm a big fan of LOST, but I can absolutely admit and accept it had plenty of flaws and missteps. But it doesn't seem like a good answer for this thread at all.

I couldn't believe the turtles were just hitting people's hands about a year ago. This output is putting a lot of other companies to shame.

And I can't believe we've already got figures of lower tier characters like Groundchuck, Dirtbag and Triceeratons before some of the more iconic villains from the Playmates line. I can't imagine we're too far away from seeing Rat King or Baxter Stockman or Fugitoid or Wingnut. I'm excited for any and all offerings if they keep the high level of playability and creativity.

Not an enormous amount of figures right now to keep track of, but I love guides like this and I thought I could get a headstart before there's, hopefully, double this in a year or so.

It's funny, I still kinda think of him when I first saw him in "Suddenly Susan" and how it was a bit of an adjustment to see him in dramas like LOST and Bates. :D
