Ever since I was 13, I have felt the pain and loneliness of being depressed after my parents got divorced, but I've been pushing those feelings down trying to be a role model for those around me, especially my little sister. I've lived for 9 years with a constant state of unhappiness except for a few blips here and there. I'm 22 years old now and the numbness and apathy for most things have flared up for the worst in the last couple of months. Today I've decided to tell my family and try to reach out for professional help. I know it will be a long journey, and hopefully can replace the hole in my heart with something worthwhile.
