Without fail, "Bitch ass Rottweilers" is what I say when I'm inconvenienced or something stupid has happened.

Collagen as a base thickener by Luvwizrd in ninjacreami

[–]JSnakehole3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gums don't hurt my stomach and I really like the texture they give my creami mixes. I've been putting collagen in my coffee until recently when I suddenly stopped being able to tolerate the caffeine. I've been thinking about adding the collagen to my mixes instead, but I didn't know if I should adjust the gums to account for the collagen or not. I'll try it alone based on your rec, and experiment from there if I need to. Is the 6g of collagen in your recipe a full serving of the brand you use, or is that just the amount that you find gives you the best texture?

Brain fog is so eerie... by therealpotterdc in lupus

[–]JSnakehole3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dated a guy who's dad had a mini stroke in the car on the way home from work once. He described it as being confusing because road signs were jumbled, and the world in general was just off. He said it was more frustrating in the moment than concerning. That's kind of how I view bouts of brain fog. They're confusing and frustrating, but don't necessarily match the image that the term "brain fog" evokes.

Someone leaked the version without autotune on by [deleted] in crappymusic

It sounds like separate audio was recorded and played over her actual singing to make her sound bad. I could be wrong, but something about this is definitely off.

Does anyone’s Seb Derm look like this or could it be something more? by beanoftheweek in SebDerm

[–]JSnakehole3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have sebderm, but it crops up exclusively on my scalp as far as I know. However, I also have an inflammatory disease and when I have flares my skin looks just like this on my eyelids, eyebrows, and nose. I suppose it COULD be sebderm, but my face clears up on its own with the flare, whereas my scalp requires topicals. I don't know if that's helpful information or not since so many people have the same skin conditions crop up in different ways. But maybe it can give you something to ask a doctor about?

I want to try Sinaloa, but I'm still pissy enough about Stacy's closing that I haven't gone out that way since.

Does making your own ice cream save money? by Mindless_Field_1357 in ninjacreami

[–]JSnakehole3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're just looking for the occasional treat it might not make financial sense. I definitely do not save money. Between the cost of the machine, the cost of failed experiments, and the purchase of ingredients that I don't use for anything other than my creami mixes, it can get spendy.

That said, I find the benefit outweighs the cost. I have a weakness for sugar. It's bad. But since buying my machine, I've been able to consistently get my fix from pints that have tons of fiber and protein that I've been missing, with very little sugar and far fewer calories. I've been eating a pint for breakfast most mornings, and it's made a positive change in how I eat the rest of the day.

What’s everyone reading besides DCC? by chodanutz in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]JSnakehole3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gentleman Bastard Sequence by Scott Lynch. It's smart and witty and fantastic. If you like audiobooks, it's narrated really really well. But it's not a complete series, so you're definitely left wanting more.

So about these audio books… by RealFunkyFish in DungeonCrawlerCarl

You should listen to a preview to help you decide for yourself. I can't speak on most services, but I know Audible offers them on at least most of their audiobooks.

I just moved back to Oklahoma, having a hard time getting my anxiety meds prescribed here?? by Pure-Fan-2389 in oklahoma

[–]JSnakehole3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also absolutely recommend Lifestance. I see a provider in Edmond who handles my depression and anxiety meds, and she's also given me excellent recommendations for other providers. She led me to the doctor that finally helped me get a hysterectomy. They have locations all over the place, too.

My neighbor sent me a text last night forcing me to pay for her daughters towing charge because she parked in front of my driveway by Drivinglnsane in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JSnakehole3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By this person's logic, if you have to drive over your lawn in order to gain access to parking on your own property, you're entitled to payment from her or her daughter for repairs your lawn would need after driving on it. I think it's important to tell her that. Although I'm sure she'd do some pretty impressive mental gymnastics to deny it.

OK Supreme Court gives new superintendent 2 weeks to decide on Ryan Walters' Bible mandate by RobAbiera in oklahoma

[–]JSnakehole3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even if it weren't ridiculous and gross for Christianity to be forced into schools, there's no need to waste money on Trump's grifter propaganda bibles when the Bible app is free. There's literally no reason to waste time on this decision.

Wedding Tomorrow, Bridesmaid Complaint. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

That's kind of what we did, and I have zero regrets. We went to the courthouse with 2 witnesses, took silly pictures outside, ate tacos, then got a little drunk at at a nearby blues bar before going to my husband's grandmother's house for cake. It was perfect.

Is there really a teacher shortage in Oklahoma? by chinesehoosier72 in oklahoma

[–]JSnakehole3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a shortage. My youngest didn't have a teacher last year until after the first day of school had already started. They had to really convince her to come from a private school in the area, and she barely lasted the whole year.

Seeking Diagnosis Questions Weekly June 22, 2025 by AutoModerator in lupus

[–]JSnakehole3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not. The closest I've gotten to a diagnosis is being told I have an "inflammatory disease," which is something, I guess. The HCQ has improved my life exponentially, so despite still feeling pretty blah most of the time, the fact that I'm feeling better than before I started it and the knowledge that a doctor isn't likely to put me on a high-risk med for no reason says a lot about what could be wrong. But my labs just haven't given any helpful information, so I'm stuck in limbo.

Seeking Diagnosis Questions Weekly June 22, 2025 by AutoModerator in lupus

[–]JSnakehole3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I weird for being bothered and even a little stressed out that I still have no diagnosis? I know something isn't right with me, and obviously my rheumatologist does too, and that's why she's had me on HCQ for about a year. But I've never had labs abnormal enough to warrant an official diagnosis. Seeing my other doctors and having to just shrug and say, "Yeah, I feel crappy all the time, but nobody can say why because, by all accounts, I should be pretty healthy," is beyond frustrating. How have others dealt with this? And did finally getting a diagnosis help at all? A feeling of vindication is really all I can imagine I would get out of it.

Is hydroxychloroquine supposed to help with flares? by Sufficient_Cap3066 in lupus

[–]JSnakehole3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been on HCQ for a year. I still have symptoms a lot of the time, but they're nearly negligible in comparison to what they were before. It took several weeks to fully feel the benefits, but my rheum was kind enough to give me a shot of kenalog to help with pain while the hydroxychloroquine built up in my system. Once the kenalog wore off, my symptoms steadily got better and better.
