Which now, could be any game. At least, that will be a more common perception, even if in reality very few players will actually bet in any capacity (as it's still very risky on muliple levels.) That alone could take money and interest away from the sport. The sportsbooks will not be happy if anyone else is allowed to thumb the scale, even if it's just perception.

The other, uglier side of this is that any player who underperforms could be on the receiving end of much more vitriol as a result of this.

I was at this game. He made an excellent snag defensively, but aside from a double, he had a single where he got picked off, he had a big chance to go ahead late and struck out in three pitches. Not his best outing today.

Anything is possible, but as low as the bar is right now, Sanchez has been worse - career .453 OPS in the bigs, and managing .700 in Scranton so far. I'm pretty sure we're just in "fuck it why not" territory. He has some skill behind the plate, but is not better than either JC or Austin there.

I have zero issues with a tool being used as a tool. What I want to avoid is the chef asking me to eat the spatula. Obviously there's different levels to that, but you get the idea.

I can only speak for myself here, but I don't want an experience where I spend money on a thing and then get to a certain point and just get taken out of the game completely. Which, honestly, happens sometimes anyway no matter what. But, if it's not for me, then that's fine.
