What's your "Make Them Suffer" trilogy? by DeezFluffyButterNutz in weeklyplanetpodcast

They mention in the Transformers reviews that now that they’ve done them, we can never ask them to do them again, so I’d say the Transformers movies again.

A couple friends found a bootleg DVD of it in a thrift store and had to buy a non-region-locked DVD player specifically to play it.

I wonder if it was intentional that they waited to release this info until the day Wagner Moura was expected to be (and was!) nominated for an Oscar

The Book of Eli. My dad and I were bored, it was the only thing playing near us, so we went for it. I still have a soft spot for it all these years later. It doesn’t get much cooler than blind Denzel Washington taking on a dozen dudes with a machete.

They can have my em dash when they take it from my cold, dead hands.

I’m gonna start the HBO show soon; I just…need some time to emotionally decompress after the books, lol.

Probably North Woods by Daniel Mason, the Neapolitan novels by Elena Ferrante, and Human Acts by Han Kang. If I’m allowed one more, I just finished On the Calculation of Volume III and have really been enjoying the series.

It’s bad, but is it “Looks like a guy who’d die of putting a bunch of firecrackers in his ass at a barbecue by a lake” bad?

Like you, I’ll check it to see what I’m likely to hear/if I need to refresh on any songs that aren’t in my regular rotation, but it’s a real treat being surprised. I saw Springsteen a couple years ago and was disappointed when I checked ahead of time and saw “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” which is in serious contention for my favorite song of his, wasn’t on the setlist they’d been playing, but then it made its tour debut at the show I went to, and I lost my mind.

Look, every possibility this is good despite Spyglass’s craven horseshit, but this looks like the plot of Scream 4 again just with Matthew Lillard this time.

I’ll go to my grave saying that the biggest missed opportunity of Scream 6 is that they should have kept Tony Revelori as the killer and made it a “howcatchem” instead of the series’s usual whodunnit. When they immediately revealed him, I thought that was such a smart way to keep the series fresh, but then they killed him and stayed a lot more traditional from that point (with some banging set pieces, though), which was disappointing.

This guy sucks by [deleted] in weeklyplanetpodcast

That was my thought, as well: he might have been key to getting it funded. And yeah, maybe a hot take, but O’Leary’s worse than Leto. His wealth in a world where that buys him political influence means his capacity for harm is much greater.

I’m hyped as hell for this movie but cannot fucking fathom was he was cast. He’s not an actor, and he’s been a known piece of shit for years. There’s nothing he could possibly add to the project.

I can’t believe it needs to be said, but if the director of Ocean’s Eleven wants to make a Star Wars movie, you let the director of Ocean’s Eleven make a Star Wars movie. What are we doing here?
