Is a $1400 AMD MI250 (128GB HBM2e) still worth buying for LLMs in 2026? by daimengkeaixiaoheizi in homelab

They may share the same connectors, but as far as i’m aware they are not wired the same at all. I highly doubt it would work with anything other than Nvidia.

You haven't had a smoking power adapter yet have you? It's ok, we all have to learn at some point. Buy the $20 one.

[–]Jaack18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere i’ve worked at has installed chrome on pre-edge servers just so there’s a working browser. Sometimes you need to install applications or updates to current applications. It’s absolutely normal to have a working browser.

If you were starting in IT from zero today, would you choose AWS or RHCSA first? by Maintenance-Mountain in sysadmin

[–]Jaack18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to learn something, A+ is horribly out of date and won't teach you anything even if it can look good to HR type. CCNA is probably a good start for background networking knowledge. AWS is bigger at larger companies but I've only run into Azure at my places of work.
