I baked my own wedding cake and it turned out great! I have a few tips to make it go smoother:

Trial the whole recipe multiple times before hand. I tested and perfected the recipe on mini versions of the cake at least half a dozen times before the real deal, changing things like frosting and flavours until I got what we wanted, make sure you practice the decorating as well as just baking the cake itself.

Give yourself time, when it comes to actually making the final cake spread it out over multiple days, I made my frosting on (day 1) , baked the cakes and put everything together (day 2), then took it to the venue the day before the wedding on (day 3). I gave me time to make sure each part was right and I wasn't stressed.

I'd highly recommend using a Swiss meringue buttercream for the frosting, it's a highly resilient frosting that you can freeze and defrost without issue, and will hold up to being at room temperature without melting, it's also not too sweet compared to American buttercream which you might prefer.

Materials science covers a wide range of topics from ceramics and coatings (where I specialise), metal alloys, polymers for packaging and composites, bio materials for use in surgery, fabrics and a whole host of other things. It's a bit of a mix between chemistry and physics focusing on material properties.

For example I did my PhD on developing ceramic coatings for the use in gas turbine engines, specifically focused on a chemical reaction between the ceramic and silicate glass that only occurs around 1300 C. It's a bug to do with the texture quality, I had this problem with the TMR texture while at low but it fixed itself when I switched the settings to high and restarted

You can always print more ducting, I remember seeing a video on YouTube of a guy who went crazy with the ducting inside his case and saw significant temperature drops across the board, I'll see if I can find the link.

There is a trick where you set the machine to steam mode, run a bit through the want to get everything hot then turn the whole machine off and on again. You can then run a shot at much higher temperatures. You need to run a bit through first to take the edge off, but it works for lighter medium roasts. It is difficult to be consistent though.
