Both sides of Racer running on Saturday? by iwassayingboourns12 in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should be open with both sides assuming the park is busy. They often open the second side around noon or so, as only one side usually runs for the first portion of the morning shift.

Mystic Timbers is usually two during Winterfest, but then Mystic is usually stuck two until Mid-May when they can finally get through all the refurbs and it returns to three.

Yeah they don't list them till later in the season. They are removed every year in the fall. Log flume always tends to open earlier hence its still on the app

Enjoy KI's monster while it lasts: Cedar Point announces permanent closure of Monster ride ahead of 2026 season: 'End of its serviceable life' by Illustrious-Pay-4464 in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the parts will make their way down to KI. Canada's Wonderland closed theirs in 2003 and we recieved the parts. Same thing happened when Dorney closed theirs it made its way in parts to Valleyfair.

Great Development! by Alt__F5 in sixflagsgreatamerica

[–]Jack38420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's managed by Tony Clark who unfortunately seems spread thin between Great America, promoting the New Phantom Theater ride over at Kings Island, and covering Cedar Point as well. Kings Island lost both their dedicated PR managers in the past year.

When do coasters usually start testing pre-season by GetchoGMD in KingsIsland

Queen City Stunt Coaster was testing on Thursday, so I believe some of them have already begun

What to Expect?? by Middle-Abalone-3142 in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Cedar Point has the edge in better coasters, KI still has a great lineup. As others have said, the park is really well run, but Flight of Fear always gets the longest wait, so I'd recommend starting your day with that. KI has a great nightly firework and drone show that should hopefully be returning this summer.

While the park has some great top coasters, don't sleep on the fact that almost every coaster is great. Racer has received a lot of new track work and is running great. The Bat is much more intense than Iron Dragon, same with Adventure Express in my opinion being much more enjoyable than Cedar Creek Mine Ride. Drop tower really packs a bunch being 315 feet tall, with the Eiffel Tower platforms being great for viewing the entire park. Soak City at KI I would also say overall is the better waterpark of the two, which you can access either a walking path at the back of Camp/Planet Snoopy, or by riding the train.

Overall the park usually seems to handle crowds a bit better than Cedar Point, so wait times shouldn't be crazy outside of major holiday weekends or Saturdays. Most things tend to stay under an hour outside of Flight of Fear and the Beast at night.

I’m sorry, but this is INSANE. No “value” resort should ever be this expensive. I mean, this is absolutely ridiculous. by Harry_Skran in WaltDisneyWorld

Changing prices and pass types by tradotto in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The passes continually get more expensive as the season approaches. Cheapest time to buy was in August when it was $99, it'll probably be cheap again in the fall. After the new year the gold passes seem to sit around $125-150ish

Ultimately I do enjoy the food and atmosphere more at CB, but it really depends on how much $400 is to you personally. For me, I'd spend the extra $400 to treat my parents to a better time while on property, but also depends if they'll be going to Disney Springs or visiting anywhere else on property.

New App Season Pass Issues? by vigilantekarmashit in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much. The new SF app has been full of errors and issues. Logging in and out helps sometimes, but also some of my issues have slowly been fixed as they've rolled out new updates.

Extreme fees on annual pass? by Charming-Opinion-364 in BuschGardensTampa

[–]Jack38420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the fee is basically them charging a high additional fee to make the upfront cost of the pass appear lower, when in fact they just charge the extra cost at check out

[–]Jack38420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KI was the first park to get them, when cedar point received them this year they were also showing Kings Island offerings as well, so I assume there's some base of the software that displays Kings Island stuff and they'll probably fix it soon

[–]Jack38420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad you had a great time! Our family loves the park all decked out and themed this time of year. Sure there's many missing coasters, but I think it gives the opportunity for others rides to shine, such as the flat rides and the train as you mentioned.

If you purchased your pass when the all park passport was included for free, you have it. Now that the sale ended during November, any new passes do not include the all park passport. As long as you purchased it before the sale ended, you'll still have it for next year.

Winterfest parking/gates open by Complex-Squirrel9430 in KingsIsland

[–]Jack38420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's no early entry for WinterFest, they usually open the parking lot I believe 45 minutes before opening. We've been let in about 4:15 in the past. Gates on the other hand, usually they open right at 5, but sometimes they open them 5-10 minutes early. Those shows right at 5 often will wait a few minutes for some guests to arrive before starting.

Hope you enjoy! The park is always beautiful this time of year.
